Christmas tasting at the Kernel. Hazy amber beer. Fluffy pale tan head. Semi dry palate. Rich flavours. A little oaky vanilla. Really nice pineapple and coconut. Very mild bourbon. Semi dry finish. Off the wall this one - like a wood aged Pina Colada! Saw quite a few furrowed brows over this one! But it’s a fun and tasty beer and impossible to dislike for me!
Bottle at The Kernel Christmas Tasting 2011. Pours foggy orange with a bubbly, white head. Nose holds bourbon, peanut butter, alcohol, some honey, and toasted malts. Medium to big sweet flavor with more peanut butter, essential oils, coconut, caramel, light bitterness. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Tangy booze finish, some sugar, hard alcohol, dry wood, mild toast. Still some peanut butter. Points for weirdness, but still, this is weird. Rasmus40 (22130) - Beder, Aarhus, DENMARK - AUG 18, 2012

Bottle 67 of 300 thanks to Beerman6686. Pours caramel brown. Tan head. Nose/taste of sticky sweet malt, oak, bourbon barrel, vinous notes, light cocoa, caramel and toffee. Hints of honey. The barrel aging really transforms this brew. Medium body. yngwie (17284) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - AUG 18, 2012
Bottle, at TFODRBSG 2012. Bottle #35. An unclear, dark orange-golden beer with a small, off-white head. Rather vinous, alcoholic aroma with some bourbon-ish scents. Sweetish and fruity. The flavor has a pleasant boozyness, although a bit too heavy. At least for drinking a whole bottle alone. Full-bodied and warming, soft carbonation. Fruityness, peach hints, some vanilla hints, sweetness and a pleasant bitterness in the flavor. Lasting finish. I don’t think it’s the best idea to put a tripel on bourbon barrels, but it’s a decent beer anyway. 120818 brokensail (16689) - Dublin, California, USA - JUL 19, 2011
A: The pour is a clouded orange color with a finger or two of off-white head.
S: The bourbon, vanilla, and oak aromas almost completely outshine the base beer on this one. There is some Tripel character to it with candy, light fruits, very mild spices, and some bread and toffee malts.
T: Like the aroma, this beer pretty much tastes like a bourbon barrel. Heavy on the vanilla and oak with a bit of candi sugar, booze, and brown sugar. Some mild banana and fruit notes are also present.
M: The body is medium and the carbonation is somewhat low. Pretty sticky on the tongue.
O: I liked this, but mostly because it just tasted like bourbon (a la many Bruery barrel aged beers). The flavor was just a touch harsh.
