I believe this was the second runnings of oil. So similar fashion as little ghost. Another complex mild? Whatever it is. Cool and great way to utilize everything. Dark brown pour with a roasty nose. Creamy body with choclate , roast and toffee Tmoney99 (14472) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - SEP 13, 2011
Tap sample. Poured clear dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Solid toasted chocolate malt aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium toasted flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met. Struggled with how to categorize this one because while it’s reminiscent of a schwarzbier more than anything, I’m pretty sure by the name it’s the second runnings of Oil of Aphrodite, technically making it a stout. Sample at the brewery side on 8/26/11. Dark brown pour with a medium beige head. Somewhat roasty nose with diacetyl and chocolate notes. Flavor also starts roasty with a bit of butteriness and chocolate before a dry, roasty finish.
