3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Received from ClintonPuckett. Pours a murky grapefruit in color with absolutely no head. Lucile is still and remains still after swirling. Nose is incredibly tart. There is big time oak, lemon, cherry, and some light band aid. Taste is pretty one dimensional, it’s all sour lemon and very faint cherry. This will most likely be stomach churning acidity in the near future. Mouthfeel is light, no carbonation, moderate to heavy acidity, and a moderate finish. Pretty middle of the road to slightly subpar sour. I traded a Bigg Stache for it, so I’m happy with the trade, but I still haven’t been all that impressed with Jackie O’s sour program.
Bomber. Pours a pinkish color with a small white head. A big sweet fruity cherry nose. The flavor is big sweet cherry, oak, tart, big. Very smooth and lambic like. djd07 (15544) - Houston, Texas, USA - APR 12, 2016
Bottle thanks to George. Pours a cloudy ruby with small pinkish head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is strong cherry skin, oak, leather, funk. Thin mouth, great tartness, nice funk, cherry pith, crisp, really enjoyed this. DrSilverworm (9672) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - AUG 30, 2015
5oz on tap at Jackie-O’s. Up front, awesome big sour cherry aroma. Good creme to it. Hazy red orange color. Nice color. Minimal head though. Medium-plus body. Smooth, kind of crisp lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Great long cherry aftertaste. Bigger sour taste. Very light sweet. Awesome cherry sour ale. Pours a slightly roses golden color with a finger of fizzy gaseous bubbles. Nose has some nice candied cherry, earthy pit, basement funk and complex fruit nuances underneath the musty barrel aromas. The palate follows the nose nicely with a great focused level of fruit, funk and acidity ! Musty sour cherry, pear skin, vanilla, dusty lemon...mysterious beer. Yum! Hazy orange pour with a white head. The aroma has some light funk as well as some biscuit and oranges. The flavor is delicious. I get some orange and cherry notes as well as some caramel and toffee. There is also a bit of light chocolate coming through as well as some tart dark fruit. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Great sour.
