4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Jackie O’s. Light amber in color, a nice fluffy white head with a good amount of lacing left on the glass. Aroma’s of grass, grapefruit, citrus zest, light malt, and pine. Taste is big hop flavor with grapefruit being the dominant note. A bitter finish that stays with the palate for quite some time. A nice DIPA.
Can. Pours a slightly hazy medium gold with a large sudsy head. Maybe the can was still angry after a day of driving around? (The others from the four-pack haven't done this.) Aromas are very weak... a bit of tropical fruit is about all I hit. Flavor is a bit of bubble gum and tropical fruit with a resin edge to the finish. It's a little hot and a little malty, but I just can't get all excited about these Mandala series beers... and to not get ecstatic about a citra beer is almost sad. It's OK, but you can pick a random DIPA off the shelf and have a similar experience most of the time. ganache (6057) - New Jersey, USA - AUG 11, 2017
Single can from VE, not sure if this is the right spot, but Jackie O’s apparently doesn’t mind not labeling their beer properly, assuming it saves a bit in not having multiple print runs; this one comes up on the bar code scanner (thank you, whoever entered it) though I still have my doubts (and my can reads 9% abv). Nose pine, grapefruit peel. Pour clear, rich golden with above-average carbonation an a too-large, foamy white head. Taste lightly tangy, medium-sweet, low-medium bitter with huge resin, pine. Cleanses the palate right away, good amount of hot booze showing, strong floral character, strong light caramel and a little dough, citrus. Clean and very bright, alive, worth seeking out as a bold, fruity boozer. [2017.08.11: 3.5] j12601 (13144) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - JUL 22, 2017
RBSG16 Grand Tasting. Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Soft citrus, musk, a bit of lemon peel. Medium bodied, soft citrus, a bit of hops. Slow citrus, gentle sweetness into the finish, a bit of musk.

7/26/16. 12oz can thanks to markwise! Orange pour with a nice khaki head. Nice aroma, tropical fruit, pineapple, citrus. Good flavor, mild citrus and fruitiness, caramel, crackery pale malts. Tasty. koleminer20 (3978) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - AUG 9, 2016
Shared at an Ann Arbor get together at Jeff’s on July 20. Poured from a can, I can’t recall is it was a 12 or crowler. The pour is a clear-ish golden yellow with a big white head that slowly falls, leaving a couple spots of lace. The aroma is pretty good. There is a nice dank citra hop up front with a lot of bitter rind and pine resin. This isn’t anything like I was expecting for a citra IPA. The flavor is much of the same. There is a little more juiciness to it, but it’s really dank, bitter, and dry. The mouth feel is thinner and light with a decent carbonation and a lingering bitter finish. It’s really interesting. I don’t think I’ve ever had a citra beer this dank and bitter. Chalumeaux (1709) - Middleton, Massachusetts, USA - AUG 4, 2016

Can in Seattle. Huge thanks to Pruf, best of the box so far! Thin foamy head, hazy clean orange. Delicious fruit, clean and very fresh. Pineapple, mild pith, sweet and juicy. Modest bitter with a clean, sharp alcohol helping to balance it all. A touch of resin at finish, coating. Terrific and delicious.
