Tap. Poured reddish black color with an average creamy brown head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Solid roasted coffee, toasted grain and chocolate malt aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture. Medium to heavy toasted balanced sweet flavor with a medium to heavy chocolate sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a standout beer.

Sample on tap at Jackie-O’s 7th. Dark black but not completely opaque color. Minimal light brown / tan head. Big maple syrup, wood, honey, oatmeal, roasty flavor. Very awesome. So flavorful. Bit of smoke and wood, hint of whiskey. Dry texture, lighter carbonation. Nice bitter sweet taste, so good. Light bit of alcohol that works well to bring out the aromas. Turkish coffee. I was a bit buzzed when I sampled this, but I loved it very much, stood out even amongst the many barrel-aged imperial stouts I had that night. Just a very solid stout. Pours a very dark brown with a thin mocha head and a light collar around the edges, especially with a good swirl. Managed not to spill this one on myself due to poor swirling technique. The nose really showcases the maple as well as a bit of the honey. The maple character is really impressive and consists alongside some light roast character and some sweet malt. Touch of brown sugar there as well. The flavor is really nice with a really nice maple presence. Maple flavor and only a bit of the sweetness. Really smooth and drinkable, especially at 7%. Really great flavor integration throughout; fantastic beer as is and I’m really looking forward to what a bourbon barrel will do to this one.
