4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Slightly hazy light oak color with a medium white head. The lemon really stands out in aroma and taste. The pine is noticeable but different than a west coast beer with cascade hops. Good bitterness but not overpowering. Very tasty one that I kept going back for.
12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 5/31/2017. Pours slightly hazy pale golden/yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense foamy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, spruce, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, cracker, white bread, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/pine hops, spruce tips, and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, spruce, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, cracker, white bread, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, spruce, lemon/orange rind, pepper, pine, cracker, white bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/pine hops, spruce tips, and moderate pale malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance. Slight lingering hop/spruce astringency through the glass, but not overwhelming. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and sticky/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 7%. Overall this is a great IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/pine hops, spruce tips, and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink, despite the increasingly bitter/drying finish. Very vibrant, juicy, and dank from hops/spruce; with a nice pale malt backbone for balance. Nice hop showcase without going overdoing the spruce tips. A very enjoyable offering. Bright pine tree aroma, pours a clear golden with a full white head. The brightness continues through in the flavor, with pine and a touch of caramel. There’s a very nice bitterness behind the pine, which comes out in the finish, sitting and lingering. Full mouthfeel, with a touch of slickness. A solid IPA. michcam8 (585) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUN 11, 2017
From the can. Pours a golden color, slightly hazy, with a big white fluffy head. Aroma of pine, dull fruits, sweetness, light malts, and doughy bread. Tasted is up-front piney hops, melon, cracker, and grainy malts. Bitter finish that lingers. No detection of alcohol. Pretty good beer. radarsock (1223) - Massachusetts, USA - JUN 3, 2017
Had on tap in the Beer Tent, Nelsonville Music Fest. Paid $6.00. Has a fragrant aroma of pressed flowers, hop oils, cilantro, sunflower seeds, algae, white clay, and oxidation. Spruce difficult to pinpoint. It’s subtly kicking around in the back which made me misidentify its specific greeness. Tastes happily more lush, fruity, and bready -- hinting at a just-bitter-enough pine/citrus blend IPA with sourdough yeast influences. Astonishingly drinkable and refreshing. kaser (6430) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 1, 2016

Draft - Nice citrus and grapefruit. Clear gold with a decent white head. Nice grapefruit citrus bitterness and a long peel finish. Shot (573) - Westerville, Ohio, USA - JUL 1, 2016
Can. Pours gold with a with fluffy head. Substantial cling. Aromas of pine and grapefruit. Flavors of sweet malt, a ht of citrus, spruce needles, a bit of grassiness, and bready notes. Finishes with the sharp, lingering, resiny bitterness of pine needles. Very interesting. A bit of a hop bomb. Noticeable alcohol. Oily mouthfeel, but otherwise fairly clean. Nice. schlitzfaced (93) - Ohio, USA - JUN 15, 2016
