Dark brown black pour. No real head to speak of. Aromas of fudge, alcohol. Taste is sweet. Silky sticky smooth. SudsMcDuff (8429) - .....Manchester United.........., Texas, USA - FEB 15, 2015
i drank this from a glass while sitting in a tin .. pours a dark viscous black .. glimmering ink with small puffs of foam .. . rum, barrel, tar, and mild sweet chocolate .. . full mouth, finish drops off slowly .. . . batman was a chump, a cape is never acceptable. mikesaum (711) - Newark, Ohio, USA - FEB 14, 2015
Abv on my bottle reads 11.5, pours like used motor oil, very dark and thick, nice dark brown head. Aroma is very roasty, leather, chocolate and barrel hints. Taste starts sweet with chocolate and rum notes, goes a bit roasty and bitter and leaves a lingering taste of anise and walnuts. mouthfeel is very full. Definitely would pick this up again. bluejacket74 (1992) - Reynoldsburg, Ohio, USA - FEB 12, 2015
12.7 ounce bottle, label says 2014 vintage. Served in a DFH snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about a quarter inch tan head that didn’t stay around long. There’s a decent amount of lacing. The aroma is nice and sweet, the brew smells like rum, molasses, nuts, dark fruit, burnt wood and vanilla. Taste is similar to the aroma, it tastes like rum, burnt/charred malt, walnuts/nuttiness, molasses, bittersweet chocolate, vanilla, dark fruit, and some roastiness. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s a bit coating and smooth with moderate carbonation. I think this is a pretty good double stout, Jackie O’s has done a great job with this one! Definitely worth picking up! $11.99 a bottle. kermis (13433) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - FEB 12, 2015
Bottle shared. Pours black with a thick brown head. Aroma of toffee, chocolate, fudge, vanilla, rum and woody barrel notes, slight fruity qualities. Flavour is heavy sweet. Full bodied with soft carbonation and a fairly thick oily mouthfeel.

Nice sweet aroma. Smells like a good bottle of rum. Tastes sort of like Bacardi though. seemed to have that sourish taste Bacardi has. Didn’t really care for that since I’m not a big Bacardi fan. Drank too much 151 back in the day. ICEatALAMO (1349) - Troy, Michigan, USA - JAN 10, 2015
Bottle. The pour is black. The aroma has rum coming through big time, sweetness. The taste has rum coming through, but the stout is lacking. Decent, but could be better.

Bottle: Thanks, Brandon. Dark brown, nearing black with a slowly forming tan skin that barely covers the top. The nose lends a semisweet & semi-tropical aroma from the rum. Quite booze-forward, but not necessarily "hot". Underlying plum, raisin, prune, molasses, & generic dark malts. Flavor has a stronger malt base with a mouthful of molasses coated dark fruit up front; drizzled over dates & raisins, then rolled in some brown sugar. Mid-palate to finish has a larger rum character. Kind of sweet & tropical again, definitely rum, but no real heat coming from it. Just a lot of rum flavor. A touch of wood & very mild roasted malt in the finish, lingering alongside the rum. I don’t love rum but this was pretty tasty. Maddog (528) - Kettering, Ohio, USA - DEC 31, 2014
2013 bomber. Damn good, but disappointing. Is that possible? Too lofty of expectations. The pour is an opaque black with a dark tan head. Aromas of roasted malts and oak with some rum. Flavors include rum, oak, walnuts, alcohol and roasted malts. Finishes dry and a little hot. A big stout! jmagnus87 (2912) - Rockford, Illinois, USA - DEC 18, 2014
Sampled during RBSG. From notes. Coffee, chocolate, vanilla and dark fermented fruits.
