Bomber courtesy of Alexsdad06 – thanks Brad! Pours pitch black with a one finger brown head. The nose is roasted nuts, vanilla, roasty malt and molasses. The taste is ashy cocoa, nuts, roasted malt, brown sugar and coffee. Medium creamy mouthfeel. Tasty brew.
Draft. A black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, and alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, and alcohol, leading to a dry finish. Alengrin (5255) - BELGIUM - FEB 21, 2017
UPDATED: FEB 24, 2017 Bottle shared by Ster at her place, cheers! Yellowish pale beige, creamy, moussy head, nicely lacing, thinning in the middle, over a black beer with hazy burgundy edges. Lovely aroma, soy sauce at first, toffee, balsamic-glazed roasted beetroot, bitter chocolate, salted caramel, gravy, ginger powder, liquorice candy, dried orange peel, cigar tobacco and - indeed - walnuts. Following the soy sauce and gravy aspect in the aroma, the palate starts off with heavy, meaty umami flavors, suppressing a faint hint of sweet candied fig and the sourishness of roasted barley; deeply nutty middle, lots of bitter black chocolate and some softening caramelliness, toasted bitterness in the end, nutty and liquorice flavors adding complexity (the liquorice even lingering beyond the finish - although it too is probably connected to the added walnuts somehow). Spicy hoppiness pierces through in the end, and so does an afterglow of warming, whisky-like alcohol, well in place and not descending into unpleasant wryness at any point. This is only my second beer from this small Ohio brewery but I’m beginning to love their works, this is again a thing of beauty - if you don’t mind heavy gravy- and soy sauce-like umami flavors in your stout, that is. I don’t, at least not if it is embedded in a sufficiently rich and complex basic structure and that certainly is the case here. blueshockey24 (607) - Colorado, USA - JAN 4, 2017

Bottle of 2015 pours a dark brown/black with a thin tan head. Sweet aroma of chocolate, molasses, dates, and candied sugar. Thick and slick palate, sweet flavors of chocolate, caramel, dates, molasses and candied sugar, finishing with light a light bitter earthy roast, nuts, and a touch of alcohol. Very nice! jackl (8029) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - AUG 18, 2016
Sample @ RBWG Tampa Epic Hotel Share. Thanks to whoever brought this! Deep brown pour with a small tan head. Nose is full of chocolate syrup. Mellow earthy charred grain. Flavor skews sweet. Nice chocolate. Pretty oily and chewy. Brown sugar. Light bitter roast. Full bodied. Good sipper.

Bottle from Dutch’s. Dark brown pour, clear with small dark brown fine-bubbled head. Short duration. Minimal lacing. Aroma: roast and chocolate mainly. Don’t pick up anything particularly nutty here. Taste is balanced -- not overly sweet, but not overly roasty or bitter either. Just a nice, middle of the road, well-crafted imperial stout. Full body, slick texture, average carbonation. Long lasting roastiness. Cybercat (5743) - Georgia, USA - JUL 16, 2016
