UPDATED: NOV 20, 2010 Sample at Jackie O’s BBDA and Oil of Aphrodite Release and Barrel aged Beer Festival on 9/11/10. The beer is a brownish-black color with a medium creamy beige head that dissipates slowly. Patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of chocolate malt, toffee and espresso. Medium body with flavors of roasted malt, mocha and mildly bitter hops. The finish is roasty and nutty with a sweet aftertaste. Good Porter overall. deyholla (12307) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - DEC 6, 2010
Sampled from the tap at the brewery during the 5th anniversary party. Poured near black with a gray head that dissipated completely. Aroma had a light sweet roasted malt note with light caramel and light pecan. Flavor began with roasted malt with growing notes of pecan and caramel coming through. daknole (11402) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - OCT 15, 2010
LCBS 2010. Dark brown pour, light brown head. Roasty aroma with some bitter chocolate, nuttiness in the background. Flavor has some nice roasty bitterness, cocoa, prunes and a hint of roasted nuts. Good stuff. hopscotch (11246) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - OCT 20, 2010
Bottle… South Florida Throwdown 2010… This beer rocks!… Pours pitch black with a small, creamy, beige head. The opulent bouquet is knock-your-socks-off mocha and pecan – huge on the espresso/coffee portion of the mocha component. Full-bodied with a viscous/oily mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. The flavor is sweet mocha (again, heavy on the espresso/coffee facet) and pecan (shells and all). Some nice tannic bitterness as well – not overbearing. The malt reigns supreme. Finishes super roasty and lightly bitter. Thanks go out to darkguardian for sharing this gem! alexsdad06 (10821) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JAN 17, 2011
Sampled on tap @ Jackie O’s. Pours dark brown in color with a thin beige head. The aroma has roasted malt, sweet chocolate, pecan nuttiness. The flavor starts with sweet chocolate, hints of caramel and the pecans come through nicely. I got a slight tart quality toward the finish. This is smooth and medium bodied.

Sample during Jackie O’s BBDA and Oil of Aphrodite Release and Barrel aged Beer Festival on 9/11/10. Dark brown pour with a medium beige head. Malty aroma with some nutty character and chocolate along with a bit of alcohol influence. Flavor starts with chocolate and nuts with a bit of hop and a creamy chocolate finish. Very nice collaboration between two of the best in Ohio right now. markwise (5450) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - JAN 7, 2011

On tap at the Anniversary Extravaganza.
Pours a very dark brown bordering on black. Thin tan head to start, eventually falling into a thin cap without any real lacing. The nose is nice and fairly intense with a good dose of chocolate, roast, coffee, and some sweetness. Faint Nutty character in the background, though I don’t know if I could have detected it without having read about this brew.
The taste is quite similar to the nose, though not quite as complex or well-integrated. Chocolate is the dominant note for me, with the other flavors blending in the background. Mouthfeel is really nice and smooth with good carbonation. Drinks well and I’m looking forward to my bottle of the barrel-aged version.
