COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A conscious and meaningful brewing effort between friends and lovers of barrel aged beers; formulated as a blend of our signature barrel aged stouts, we both selected techniques and ingredients that pushed both our skill sets. The resulting beer rested for 14 moths in fresh bourbon barrels. Inky, warm, dark, and extravagant, swallowing you into a deep abyss of liquid love.

(375ml bottle @ Himmeriget, Copenhagen, Dec 15/17) Pours black with a tiny tan ring of head. Aroma is a big hit of rich dark chocolate, bourbon-soaked wood, dark malts with a toffee/molasses feel, oaky vanilla tones, roasty tending towards burnt. Flavour is dark chocolate, moderately roasted malt, raw sugar, dark toffee, prominent bourbon, burnt wood, char, slightly nutty, some vanilla oak, notably boozy. Sweetish to start but finishes medium dry, very oaky, burnt malt, cacao, fairly high roast bitterness, spirit heat is almost peppery. Medium-full body, soft tingling carbonation. Quite good, but the exposed booze makes it more difficult to drink, compared to Derivation this is hot and rough.

PhillyCraft (8312) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 12, 2017
Bottle with Dave, pours a pitch black with minimal head and lace. Nose is ultra rich and decadent with sugar plum, molasses, roast, Bourbon, and chocolate. Flavor is smoke, wood, dark fruit, char, and light vanilla. Ultra warming in the chest but the 15 percent isn't too intense with regards to flavor/mouthfeel. As this warmed it became insanely complex, moved up a couple notches...Bourbon gingerbread

Bottle. Enormous bourbon (no doubt that the barrels were fresh). Vanilla. Sweet chocolate. A toach of roast. Seriously boozy but I would say acceptable. Solid body. Drinking well. Perfect for bourbon and strong beer fans.

wow. a great barrel in the nose - lots of wood and bourbon with a hint of vanila. It is a thick and strong brew. Lots of roast, cocoa and coffee. You feel it very long in the mouth.

375 ml bottle to snifter. Looks good; a slightly translucent dark cola with thin beige lacing. Smells and tastes of dark malt, dark chocolate, oak, abd bourbon. Mouthfeel is medium-full to full-bodied, moderately bitter, and warming. Enjoyable.

From notes. Enjoyed at Doug’s abode on August 03. 375 mL bottle. The pour is a nice darker black with a thin ring of lighter brown head and a couple spots of lace as it completely vanishes. The aroma is really good. Very heavy bourbon up front with a sweet chocolate and molasses following it. There is a light vanilla and then a strong bourbon finishing it off. The flavor is much of the same. The chocolate and bourbon work so well together. There is a light oakiness to it, a hint of vanilla, and a light roastiness on the finish. The mouth feel is creamy and medium-heavy bodied with a soft carbonation and a lingeringly chocolate and roast heavy bourbon finish. This is just a great beer. Good lord. 8 4 9 4 16
