Dark, sweet to almost smoky smell. Clear dark brown color with hints of dark red. Medium sweetness similar to barrel-aged beers with fruity/dark malt notes. Full body with very little carbonation and a sweet aftertaste. Goes down very smoothly. Excellent beer. Dogbrick (13764) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAR 11, 2014
Sample at the brewpub. Dark brownish-amber color with a medium thick light beige head that diminishes slowly. Patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, dark fruit and yeast. Full-bodied with flavors of graham crackers, caramel malt and fruity yeast. The finish is sweet with a brown sugar and malt aftertaste. Good beer overall. phaleslu (10668) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 2, 2014
Draft at Jackie-O’s. Pours a deep amber color with no head. Notes of brown sugar, dates, caramel, raisins, berries, and fruitcake. The nose is dry and malty, and the flavor is fruitier. Medium-full bodied, with low carbonation and a rich, smooth mouthfeel. Good quad. BeerandBlues2 (13814) - Escondido, California, USA - DEC 14, 2013

Tap sample. Pours brown to dark brown with a thin off white head. The aroma and flavor have dark fruits, plums, dates, Belgian candi sugar, caramel, light hints of roast and chocolate. Smooth, pretty solid. Tmoney99 (14970) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 21, 2012
Tap. Poured a hazy dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that mostly diminished with fair lacing. Moderate to dark sweet malt and small alcohol aroma. Medium body with a smooth sticky texture and lively carbonation. Medium to heavy dark sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Sweet complex brew.

On tap at the brewpub, listed as "Skipping Stone" (singular) on the board. Very dark brown color with a red hue. Nice khaki head. Some dotty lace. Really interesting dark, rich and spicey aroma - wish I could identify the spices here, it’s an interesting and unique flavor. Great dark fruit and fig aroma. Very light, crisp carbonation, big body, very smooth texture. Long aftertaste is welcome by me. Awesome spicy and light sweet taste. Good brew JaBier (8253) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - MAR 26, 2012
Sample at the brewpub. Pours very dark brown with a thin head. Aroma of banana, chocolate, caramel and a bit of roast. Chocolate covered banana flavor with caramel and booze before a toffee finish. Admittedly not one of my favorite styles, but I really liked this one. Not too far into banana town. DavoleBomb (1867) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 25, 2012
THE NAME LISTED ON THE BOARD AT JO’S WAS "SKIPPING STONE." On-tap into a tulip. It’s possible that this was labeled a quad by JO’s, but BSDA works just as well.
4.0 A: Lightly hazed medium brown color. Came with a short creamy head.
3.0 S: Surprisingly faint nose. Plum and tobacco foremost with a light spice.
4.0 T: Where the nose fails, the taste succeeds. Big hit of plum, date, fig, and lots of caramel. Candi sugar galore, tobacco, raisin, and sweet maltiness with a warming finish.
4.5 M: Medium body. Not as spritzy as I usually like my Belgians, but this is incredibly creamy.
4.0 D: Solid offering. Enough said.
