COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is the spin on our Drawn And Portered that I have wanted to do for years. We substituted in 200 pounds of Weyerman Smoked malt to give this robust porter a whole new personality. Savory smokiness joins with chocolate, java, and caramel to produce a great smoked porter!

Draft to taster in a flight at the brewpub from notes. Pours a a dark brown color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malt, a heavier smoked character, chocolate, coffee notes, a subtle sweetness, this is a solid variation of the original.

The smoke seems to over power everything. If I could get more roasted malts, I’d truly love this. A little thin on the feel but I’d overlook that for some malts. Good pairing with spicy or BBQ meats.

4 oz draft pour at Jackie O’s Public House. Black with off-white to light tan head. Aromas of smoke, chocolate, roast. Tastes of smoke, dark chocolate, roast, soy. Medium body with a dry finish. Low carbonation, slick mouthfeel. Well balanced smoke in this.

Nitro at the brewpub on 6/7/14. Can’t believe I’ve never rated this beer before. Pours darkest brown with a thick tan nitro head. Aroma consists of campfire smoke, roast and ham. Malty and chocolatey flavor with some smokiness before a bitter coffee finish.

On tap at Jackie O’s. Pours a deep brown with a thin but dense head. Aromas of vanilla, a hint of smoke and peat, a little cocoa. Flavor is cocoa and peat with just a hint of vanilla.

Draft sample. Poured dark brown color with an average brown frothy head that was mostly lasting with very excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy chocolate smoke sweet malt aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy sweet toasted smoked flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Complex standout beer

Poured on draft. Dark brown to black appearance with a brown, khaki colored head of foam. Aroma is loaded with smoky, barbecue, bacon, chocolate, caramel, and sausage. Had this with a hearty, hefty breakfast sandwich, and it was fantastic. Taste is definitely robustly umami, savory, smoky. No real bitterness or sweetness aside from the faint notes of chocolate and caramel. Really enjoyed this beer.

Rich dark brown color with a tan foam ring. Nice smoky aroma. Smoke is also a huge flavor presence with dark complexity and a bitter hop balance on the back end. Good smoke flavor and everybody else is hating on this but I’m enjoying this beer.

On tap at Jackie O’s Memorial Day weekend. Served in a pint glass. Pours very dark brown with a nice off-white head. The nose begins with some nice roast as well as some dark chocolate and a bit of coffee. Very nice light smoke character in the background. Really nice porter with a really nice not-over-the-top smoke addition. Body is medium and a bit chewy. Great porter from Brad and crew.

2 consecutive pints enjoyed while hanging out with friends, on tap at Jackie-Os. Opaque brown color. Good thin khaki head. Good lace. Light smokey malt aroma. Some chocolate, good roastiness. Lighter smokey sweet taste, light bitter. Light carbonation, good crisp texture. Smokey sweet aftertaste, mildly oily. Bigger body (ABV was listed at 6%). Gotta love smoked porters, but I don’t know... I wouldn’t mind a higher smoke to porter ratio. It’s satisfyingly hearty, though.
