A-muddy brown with thinner tan colored head.
S-the nose is very raspberry foward, fleshy raspberries, light tartness, hints of dark malt and a decent spicy brett presence in the back with some citrus hops.
T-strong tart fleshy raspberry and muddle brett, citrus and leather with notes of chocolate malt and some dry oak.
M-creamy lush body, medium weight and not heavy, faint driness with assertive crisp finish.
D-the fleshy raspberries are decent and oak plays a good role. lots going on and somewhat unintergrated flavors falling off slighlty in the back. small flaws and decent beer otherwise. ucusty (2691) - raleigh, North Carolina, USA - APR 30, 2011
Re-rate- On Tap @ Jackie O’s Hazy brown pour with some garnet hues around the edges. Thin off white head and some spotty lace. Aroma is raspberry, chocolate and vanilla. maybe some subtle hints of brett. Oaky tannins, aceto bacter, alcohol, fruit and brett. Finish is dry. Aftertaste shows a lingering earthy roastiness. I am sure glad to had re-tried this!

Because we couldn’t get it together, we probably sat on this growler for longer than we should have. Muddy orange pour. Aroma is vinegar, raspberries and light vanilla. Raspberry, light bourbon and balsamic vinegar. I really wish we could have had this under better conditions. Rated 3.5 August 2010

Pour yields a moderate brown beer with a thin off-white head and a bit of lacing. The nose has plenty of musty, earthy raspberry and oak character, which increases in tartness as it warms up. The flavor has a good amount of raspberry and a bit of malt. Light sourness to accompany the earthy raspberry. A light bit of earthy funk. Finish is nicely acidic and quite dry. A nice, highly drinkable wild ale.

Six ounces from a tulip at the "One Funky Afternoon" event. Third batch (2011).
3.5 A: What can I say here? Black with no head. The workers were shuffling like ants on a piece of candy filling multitudes of four and six ounce pours, so no head is understandable.
5.0 S: Simply amazing! Both the base stout and the sour comes through well to make a truly unique mix. Big hit of raspberry, sweet caramel, milk chocolate, and a soft roastiness from the base beer. The raspberry puree lends a tart, almost lactic character. Good amount of vanilla too. Bourbon adds a layer of complexity, but plays a supplementary role. Brett funk rounds this one out.
4.5 T: Taste is much like the nose, but not quite as potent. Lots of raspberry and chocolate, bourbon and vanilla in moderate amounts, caramel and barnyard funk.
4.5 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. The stout’s creaminess somehow survived the brett and this goes down super smooth.
4.5 D: Wonderful, funky stout. This is definitely unique and a great success. As for wild stouts, take notes Deschutes and Odell, haha.
This was probably my favorite feature beer.

This poured a murky reddish brown color with a pinkish off white head. Aroma was of lots of brett, light funk and mild raspberries. Flavor was very tart and bretty upfront with a noticable vanilla raspberry swallow.

On tap into a sampler glass. Appearance is a dark translucent brown with a beige head that quickly fades. Aroma is of brett, bourbon, and raspberries. Taste is much the same as the nose: brett to start off, shifting to sour raspberries and then moving on to a finish of brett, sour raspberries, and bourbon. Pretty nice beer with a lot going on. From Kan at RBSG 10 Grand Tasting. Thanks! Deep purpley-brown with a sticky head. Nose is dark fruit, tart, chocolate, raspberries & some plum notes. Some funk and the oak is pretty prominent. On taste, sharp sourness with more vanilla coming through. The alcohol lends a welcome sweetness but is not over the top. Because we couldn’t get it together, we probably sat on this growler for longer than we should have. Soupy brown pour, fairly lifeless with minimal carb. Dank berry nose with musty wood and faint remnants of bourbon in there too. Hard to pick up the vanilla and bright wood in the taste, which comes across more or less like a swampy oud bruin (with hints of the sugary quality of a Belgian strong). Backlogged rating from Growler @ RBSG 2010, thanks Kan for bringing this: Deep brown with ruby highlights topped by a small frothy head. The aroma has notes of sour cherries and raspberries, chocolate, vanilla bean, roast and toast, woody and slightly earthy. The taste starts with twangy sour fruit, sweet brown and pale malts, some D1 Belgian Candi Sugar, bourbon oak barrel with the expected vanilla and a hint of herbal hops. The mouth feel is lively, sharp and even a tad oily. The alcohol is noticed but not interfering. Well done but I would have liked to see a bit less BB influence.
