Bottle. Smoky aroma with notes of chocolate, coffee and roast. Pours black with about one finger of light brown head that has decent retention and lacing. Starts with good flavors of roast, coffee and chocolate as well as a rich full body. Finishes smooth with a good amount of smoke to go with the roast that lingers on the palate nicely. Excellent black beer. onceblind (11492) - Denver, Colorado, USA - OCT 7, 2016
Deep cola brown under a thin light tan head. Big German smoked malt aroma that has a nice little black pepper and meaty quality about it, and a light grassy hop. Crisp and cracker-grainy flavor that’s gentle on the smoke and very gentle meatiness, has a touch of black pepper, and a smooth dark malty lagered finish. Pretty tasty and smooth and refined. raymow (1930) - Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 1, 2016

12oz bottle. Pours a cola-colored brown with a medium beige head. Light, smoky aroma of gouda, and maybe a little fruit. Caramel malt gives a cola-like taste accented by a mild smoky char. Average carbonation. Pillowy mouthfeel. Very drinkable. Frank (4267) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 20, 2016
This is sort of schwartzbier-ish, I’d say, pushing into porter territory. The level of smoke here is significant but not overbearing. It is just a notch or two past the level where I might believe that level of smokiness can be coaxed out of regular roasted grains. It works pretty well as a compliment to chocolate and coffee flavors otherwise. It’s just a hint sweet and medium bodied. It seems fairly clean from a fermentation standpoint but it’s a bit hard to tell because of all the roast/smoke. If you are into smoked porters, give this a try. It is a pretty decent spin on the style. DocLock (11256) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 9, 2016

Aroma: milder in character, hinted with smoke and deep malts. Tad too fruity for such beer.
Top: medium plus cap, mocha, creamy with lace and rings.
Base: light brown into brown.
Palate : medium thinner body, creamy texture with delicate carbonation. Average finish.
Taste: mild smoke up font, mellow pleasant enough session able dark lager. Rauch lovers would say that this one is too mellow.
other notes I like it but this could be done better.
@ Khyber Pass. Medium brown and a bit hazy. Thin head. Light smoke, touch of acidity, bit yeasty... A muddled slightly smoky brew with toasty notes.
