Draught at Meadhall, 5th anniversary party, 7/27/16.MichaelAwesome (6545) - Wanne-Eickel, GERMANY - APR 1, 2016
A deep, cherry-burgundy color to the body, quite clear, with little/no head. No retention.
Wood tannin, light oxidation, dry, grainy wheat and light cereal grains and very dry, tart cherry juice notes. Maybe some earthy, old, musty yeast/bacteria....
Just about flat in the mouth, with a very dry, tart cherry flavor, wood tannin, light oak and tart, grainy wheat. It all combines to provide very little brightness, no livliness and nowhere for this surplus of acid and cherry flavor to go. It just sort of dully sits around on the palate, while collecting on the uncarbonated, muted finish. Some sweetness would help, but it’s really the lack of carbonation and tired feel to the beer as a whole. Makes you wonder why brewers put stuff like this on draught. This was much worse than my rating suggests, but I’m not going to completely pan the beer, as I don’t think it’s that bad, this was just a horrible, old, flat sample of it.
McTapps (6976) - Reutlingen, GERMANY - APR 1, 2016
Bottle from trade with HenrikO, many thanks! The beer has got a dark brown-ruby colour with a small head and medium body. Aroma of cherries, barrel and barley. Taste of mild acid, brown ale, cherries, unripeness, barrels, woods and citric. Well balanced sourness. Enjoyed it. arminjewell (9720) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - DEC 20, 2015
Pour out of bottle, thanks Jeff! Dark reddish brownish pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of sour cherry, berry, vanilla, oak, lemon, slight acetic, hints of spice. Taste was a mix of cherry, oak, lemon, hints of spice, touch of slight funk, finishing slightly tart, slightly sweet. jredmond (8626) - New York, New York, USA - JUN 14, 2015
Bottle at Bills. Pours a dceep murky body. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of sweet cherries, vinegar, lots of acidity, sour wheat and spice. I don’t think I would label this a berliner on blind tasting.

Bottle: The aroma consists of mild cherry, cola, light vanilla, and oak. It pours a transparent orangish-brown with a small off-white head that quickly fades to almost nothing. The flavor starts with cherry and light cola. The finish has mild lemon with a hint of vanilla, oak, and grain. It’s light bodied with mild carbonation.
Darker brown body, thin light tan head, spotty lacing. Cherry cola, light milk chocolate, lagery bread, some wheat, more acetic than lactic. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, oily, mild acidity. Not particularly pleasurable. PhillyCraft (7916) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 23, 2015
Bottle shared by someone at Bills. Notes of cherry chocolate, acidic berries, dust, and all around weird notes. Nothing Berliner like about it. More of a bad dark saison that got somewhat infected. rxeight (3243) - Illinois, USA - MAY 23, 2015
Bottle. Aroma is a brown caramel malt. Taste is very medicinal. Cherry cough drops with a bit of sourness. Different but weird.
