COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer was brewed as a collaboration between Jack’s Abby and Lawson’s Finest Liquids. Valley Malt malted all the 2-row malt in addition to the specially smoked malt with hand-sourced wood from VT. Brewed with one gallon of maple syrup per barrel of beer. An addition of lactose sugar and brown malt rounds out a beer that tastes great from breakfast till dessert. Enjoy! May 2013 release.

Bottle split at Tony’s, from the Beer Shop LTD, 19/05/13. Hazed copper with a thin off white head. Nose is caramel malts, maple syrup, touch of smoke. Taste comprises smoked gammon, sugars, caramel, syrup. Medium bodied, fine carbonation. Ok - a little to sweet.

Clear amber with an initially light white cap. Really to the point aroma, clean, almost absent yeastiness and minimal hops - yes, even if it’s a Lawson, leaves all the malts and very fragrant maple take plenty of room, the smokiness being woodsy, clean, unagressive. Inevitably, it is fairly sweet, having a light acidic kick from the CO2 and maple that remind of apple. Otherwise, it’s a french toast breadiness covered with plenty of smokey maple and no detour. Sparse carbonation could be a little crispier, but then again accentuates the unctuous, maple sappy texture that is presumably sook. While its execution is flawless, I can’t say I’m overly fond of that flavour profile in a beer. Under the right circumstances though, I would certainly appreciate. Bartender, I’ll take me a slice o’ ham and sum eggs puh-leez,

Bottle shared by Phiilies08Champs. Thanks, Sean! Pours clear straw colored with minimal head. Nose was oaky, with big apple, rauchy malt, maple, and cognac. Tasted hot, with oaky bourbony notes, woody, vanilla, cognac, and smoked notes. This one was very unique, and a testament to originality.

On tap at Blackback in Waterbury, Vermont. Moderate smoke character with just a touch of maple. Too much smoke for me.

50cl bottle pours a hazy, caramel amber with some wispy, white head. Nose is some light smoke, a little cherry wood, some light maple, almost a maple wine aroma, some brown sugar, malt. Flavor is a weird mix of sausage fat and sweet maple, I guess it tastes like breakfast sausage, but not in a great way, honey, malt, brown sugar, some bread, some pitted fruit, a little cherry, date. Full, sweet and smokey finish. A strange combo.

Bottle date can’t be read. Pours murky amber with really no indication of carb, some soapy bubbles around the rim. Smells of malt, some smoke, a little plastic and oaky character. No maple in the nose for me. Flavor is sweet malts, smoke (not too overpowering), some tea, some mineral character. Maybe a bit thin with lower than appreciated carb with an off dry finish. Don’t really see what lawson’s added to the mix here, the smoke is well done, but the beer overall isn’t something I’m impressed with.

Pours a murky golden-brown...almost like a cider. Very thin head...minimal lacing. Aromas of ash, sugar, oak, lagered yeast. Taste is very interesting, if not weird. Get a big mouthfull of smokey malts...then the maple comes forward. Tastes almost like bacon! Serious! I don’t hate it...but I can’t say that I love it. Finishes pretty decent, but just not my cup-o-beer. And, I like "weird" beers usually.
