Pours deep amber into an English pint. Sickly white head recedes to skim surface. Sweet maple and smoke aromas. Dry and sweet with maple syrup, bread and caramel upfront turning to mild smoky campfire in the lasting finish. Better than it looks... On tap @ The Reservoir (Waterbury). Clear golden/amber with a small white head and little lacing. Aroma of smokey meat (but not overwhelming), maple, caramel and nutty notes. Taste is slightly to moderately sweet with smoke, cereals, maple, caramel, malt and nuts. Medium body. Mouthfeel is slightly dry. Crisp. Very good balance, which is so important in a Smoked beer. Smoked meat and maple are both present, but just the right amount of it. A perfect beer for breakfast.
