COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer was brewed as a collaboration between Jack’s Abby and Lawson’s Finest Liquids. Valley Malt malted all the 2-row malt in addition to the specially smoked malt with hand-sourced wood from VT. Brewed with one gallon of maple syrup per barrel of beer. An addition of lactose sugar and brown malt rounds out a beer that tastes great from breakfast till dessert. Enjoy! May 2013 release.

Amber pour, white head. Nose is heavy smoke, maple, beef, more smoke. Thin on the palate, heavy smoke, malts, light maple.

Received from Allen, thanks a bunch man! Poured into a BCS tulip. Pours a murky orange-brown in color with a half fingers worth of off-white head that quickly dissipates to a soapy ring of bubbles around the glass. Nose is all smoked malts, it reminds me of an aecht scherlenka. Maple is lost on the nose though. Flavor is smoke as well with a little sweetness on the finish, no maple whatsoever though. Mouthfeel is light and slightly slick, carbonation is good, and it has a light to moderate finish. Pretty solid smoked beer from these two, pretty drinkable and isn’t oppressively heavy handed with the smoked malt.

Looks like copper.smells like pale malts, a bit of smoke and some german malts. it’s not overhwelmingly smoky on the nose. taste is quite nice. creamy and sweet. not veyry smoky in the taste. kind of woody and sweet. I like it a lot.

500 ml bottle. Cloudy brown color, white hubby head that produced a good retention. Nose is nice maple syrup, caramel with just a hint of smoke. The lactose sugar gives the maple an extra sweetness that really tones down the smoked malt. The body is medium with the sweetness being a major aspect. Maybe my favorite smoked beer I have sampled to this date.

orange copper colour. smoky ripple taste. sort of reminiscent of sherkerla little head but still very promising .

Soft orange with flat head. Thick rusty sweetness, with edge of pancakes left in the toaster too long. Stern oilyness with a decent malt sweep. Pinch of roast and fairly sad finish debasing early promise.

Bottle, Secret Summer Santa

(Rating #5096)

Orange pour with a white head. The aroma has some ashy smoke notes as well as some biscuit malt. The flavor is made up of smoke, ash, light maple syrup and biscuit. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Bottle. Pours a clear copper body with a small wispy off-white head. The nose is lightly smoky and sweet with maple sugar and caramel. The flavor is sweet and smoky with a nice clean lagered finish. I like the natural tasting maple syrup in here. The smokiness is not quite as intense as I’d like it, but it’s still pretty pleasant. Medium bodied and very smooth with nice soft carbonation level. Pretty excellent, smooth stuff.
