On draft at the tasting room. Pours black with an off white head. Decent black lager with a hint of smoke from the roasted malts. Not bad, especially given the lower abv, but had this in a flight next to some of it’s bigger brothers and it came off a bit weaker in flavor comparatively.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a dark brown with a high beige head that leaves nice lacing. Nose is of pine and roast, really nice. Taste is nicely roasty, piny and just nice. Moderately bitter. Medium body, medium carbonation. A really nice session black IPL, the first I’ve ever had I think and I must say it is really something worth pursuing. Of course, this one coming out of Jack’s Abby I might be spoiled already and never like another one! ;)
