Awesome appearance, much better than usual for JA. Huge white head is immaculately well-retained atop a clear copper body.
Floral/fruity hops in the nose show orange, lime, cherry and a touch of spicy rye sits on the end. No resin to the hops and very little sweetness, though a bit of "hardness" from either some light oxidation or crystal malts (or both). Floral hops continue as it warms and breathes, with very light lemon and orange. No alcohol or flaws.
Crystal malt-like texture is rather hard with some minimally chewy rye textures and light vanilla-honey-like sweetness. Very well-attenuated and mostly it’s a lighthearted blend of lemon-lime, perfumey/floral hops and light orange rind hoppiness as well. Didn’t realize this was this low in abv and it’s really well-malted considering with perfectly balanced hoppiness. They really got a lot of flavor out of this one while still keeping it very sessionable.
Another one that the palate-less masses on this fine site of ours don’t appreciate.
