UPDATED: DEC 15, 2016 From bottle it’s deep, lightly hazed brown with a short head.
Aroma impression is black malt, roast, leathery coffee, touches of match stick, with strong diacetyl giving it a buttery burnt milk quality... and because the smoked malt is mild and seems eclipsed by the roast, the diacetyl actually lends it a Czech Tvame resemblance. Medium-light bodied and lightly sweet with balanced bitterness. Carbonation is supple and fine and the body slender, velvet-like and creamy, but lacks malt depth. I had a better experience from tap but still found it basic overall and a little watery-thin in texture. ajnepple (7342) - Lakewood, Colorado, USA - DEC 5, 2016
12 oz single bottle from Molly’s Spirits. Black appearance with a nice tan head and light lacing. Aroma of roasted grain, light smoke, chocolate malt and coffee. Similar flavor, rich, dark and mildly sweet with a light roasted bitterness and a light smoky finish. Light to medium body with a slight watery feel and soft carbonation. Quite a nice brewski...the aroma isn’t super complex, but it’s very clean and enticing...great roastiness, with nice smoke in the background. A bit watery, but nicely balanced for quaffing enjoyment! Westchesterco (2274) - mclean, Virginia, USA - NOV 15, 2016

Good aromas of malt and some hops. Pours black with a tan head. Light lacing. Nice flavors of hops and yeast. Dry layer like. Heavy carbonation. Lots of burps. Nice. zoucrew102 (2236) - - OCT 16, 2016
Bottle. Smoky aroma with notes of chocolate, coffee and roast. Pours black with about one finger of light brown head that has decent retention and lacing. Starts with good flavors of roast, coffee and chocolate as well as a rich full body. Finishes smooth with a good amount of smoke to go with the roast that lingers on the palate nicely. Excellent black beer.
