This is sort of schwartzbier-ish, I’d say, pushing into porter territory. The level of smoke here is significant but not overbearing. It is just a notch or two past the level where I might believe that level of smokiness can be coaxed out of regular roasted grains. It works pretty well as a compliment to chocolate and coffee flavors otherwise. It’s just a hint sweet and medium bodied. It seems fairly clean from a fermentation standpoint but it’s a bit hard to tell because of all the roast/smoke. If you are into smoked porters, give this a try. It is a pretty decent spin on the style. DocLock (10652) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 9, 2016
Bottle from Whole Foods PM. Pours hazy dark brown with tan head. Nose is dark smoked malt cacao, coffee. Tastes smooth, with smoked malt, cacao, mild coffee, dark fruit. Smooth, smoky yet slightly sweet finish, and very smooth. Radek Kliber (7320) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - MAY 25, 2016

Aroma: milder in character, hinted with smoke and deep malts. Tad too fruity for such beer.
Top: medium plus cap, mocha, creamy with lace and rings.
Base: light brown into brown.
Palate : medium thinner body, creamy texture with delicate carbonation. Average finish.
Taste: mild smoke up font, mellow pleasant enough session able dark lager. Rauch lovers would say that this one is too mellow.
other notes I like it but this could be done better.
@ Khyber Pass. Medium brown and a bit hazy. Thin head. Light smoke, touch of acidity, bit yeasty... A muddled slightly smoky brew with toasty notes. baraciisch (3187) - California, USA - APR 28, 2016

Draught @ As Is NYC. Inky black with spongy beige head, caramel aroma, medium carbonation, mocha taste, not really tasting smoke, thick body, medium bitter roasted malt finish. Very smooth and tasteful but did not feel smoked at all. Quick3Beers (1204) - East Falmouth, Massachusetts, USA - APR 5, 2016
Pours a rich brown/black from a bottle. Nose of coffee, flavor similar with a nice roasted smokiness toward the end, some vanilla and even toffee notes mixed in a bit. Rather thin and almost cola-y. Good beer, and I’m not a particular fan of smoked beers. katrinaez (1922) - norristown, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 18, 2016
Nice light smoky scent and added to the taste. Vanilla kicks in at the end. A bit of a sour funk also. Feel is a but gritty, but filling. medium brown with a purple brown color. Tap wchesser (2071) - Denver, Colorado, USA - FEB 24, 2016
