COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A lot is read into the word craft or micro-produced. But how many cider companies have been growing apples for over 50 years? Not many. With Jack’s Hard Cider, we pride ourselves in the fact that we produce a hard cider from the ground up – literally. We grow the apples, press apples, ferment apples, and package the final product all from our facility located in one of the Apple Capitals of the World, Biglerville Pennsylvania. In a town that claims some of the biggest brand names in Apple Products, Jack’s Hard Cider was inspired by “Jack” Hauser, who led Musselman Foods into national recognition in the 1950s, and who is the patriarch of the Hauser Family, makers of Jack’s Hard Cider.

Pours a clear light golden with no real head after the first couple seconds.....aroma is apple, apple skins, slight yeastiness......taste is slight tang, touch earthy, spiciness, dry, apple skin, finishes off just a touch bitter for lack of a better word.

Can from Seijo Ishii. Nose is apple, bit of skin, some yeast. Moderately sweet, low to medium acid, apple flavor, bit of fermentation flavor and mineral. Carbonation is too high, too spritzy. Meh.

maekchu (4064) - Hirakata, JAPAN - SEP 22, 2016
Can from Seijo Ishi. Sweet apple and sugar aroma. Clear thin gold color. Apples, bit of earthiness, some small spice. Lightly tangy, thin, and smooth body. Simple, easy drinking. More interesting (a little) than the Helen’s Blend cider.

jbruner (5401) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - SEP 14, 2016
Pours a clear yellow from the can with minimal head or lace but lots of bubbly carbonation. Aroma and taste of sweet apples with a hint of acidic finish. Dry and bubbly, but super sweet. It’s a cider, meh.

kramer (6908) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 18, 2016
Tap. Pours a clear yellow gold body with a small fizzy white head. The nose is fairly typical cider, apple skins, honey sweetness. The flavor is certainly on the sweeter side, lots of apple juice and a slight acidic twinge that makes the mouth water. Short and quick finish. Light bodied with just a bit of stickiness and fizzy active carbonation. Meh, a fairly average sweet cider, but it’s pretty tasty.
