Grima (2511) - Merzkirchen, RLP, - NOV 17, 2012
Pours dark brown reddish with no foam. Smells malty roasty, caramelly. Starts very malty, with lots of plum and licorice. Middle part is warming, strong malty-fruity with plum and some pine wood. Goes into a fruity finish with lots of plum, licorice and roasted malts.

hauxe (1024) - Butzbach, Hesse, GERMANY - DEC 23, 2017
Pours brown from the bottle. Off white frothy crown that fades to nothing. Aroma is toffee, light milk chocolate. Taste is sweet, full of chocolate, caramel. Dry at the finish. Lightly warming, no trace otherwise of the ABV. Body is medium, carbonation is mild, a bit sticky. Overall a decent bock.

Sticky sweet dark aroma (with hints of savouriness -anna). Looks dark (ruddy brown -anna). Sweet malty body, kind of rough. sweet smooth palate, kind of harshish metallic finish. (I get a hint of sweetish mushrooms too -anna)

Bottle 50cl. Poured into a lager glass. Clear amber brown, tall frothy beige head, good retention, light lacing; aroma roasted malts, caramel, treacle, dark fruits, brown sugar; taste heavy sweet and slightly bitter, roasty, malty, toffee, sugary; sweetbitter aftertaste, fruit and caramel notes, alcohol; full body, oily to creamy texture, soft carbonation; brute of a beer, lacks subtlety.
