Pours dark brown reddish with no foam. Smells malty roasty, caramelly. Starts very malty, with lots of plum and licorice. Middle part is warming, strong malty-fruity with plum and some pine wood. Goes into a fruity finish with lots of plum, licorice and roasted malts.

Really nice rich maltiness, without excessive sweetness and clean finish. Very good bock.

500ml Bottle - Dark brown with red tinges. Raisins, malt and a hint of leather in the aroma. Malty, sweet and fruity taste with raisins, marzipan and blackcurrant.

blackisle (2585) - Amsterdam IJburg, NETHERLANDS - JUL 9, 2016
Bottle 50cl. Poured into a lager glass. Clear amber brown, tall frothy beige head, good retention, light lacing; aroma roasted malts, caramel, treacle, dark fruits, brown sugar; taste heavy sweet and slightly bitter, roasty, malty, toffee, sugary; sweetbitter aftertaste, fruit and caramel notes, alcohol; full body, oily to creamy texture, soft carbonation; brute of a beer, lacks subtlety.

Werckmeister (3184) - Vienna, AUSTRIA - MAR 1, 2016
0,5l bottle at home from trade with SinH4, big thanks. BB 03.11.2016. brownish clear color, small off-white head. smells of tobacco, sweetness, light cardboard, spices, light fruits, plums, paper. average smell. full body, bubbly carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes quite sweet, dried fruits, plums, light cardboardish, hints of citrus, some spices. finishes rather sweet with notes of plums and spices. quite on the sweet sides, light off-notes. overall drinkable but simple and boring. posivitive: ABV not noticeable, but for the ABV I expect a lot more.

anstei (2248) - Zurich, SWITZERLAND - DEC 26, 2015
Bottle, courtesy of SinH4. A slightly smoky, slightly spicy and meaty Doppelbock. Highly drinkable, very enjoyable, but not incredibly deep.

SinH4 (4796) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - DEC 17, 2015
Amber color with rather small tan head that goes down quickly. Aroma is sweet caramel, some old world hops and "dusty cellar" bottom-fermentation aromas. Also hints of plums and figs. Taste is more caramel and plums, very "lieblich" - it’s light, but still has a good amount of flavour. Incredibly easy to drink. It feels way too light for 8%

motelpogo (7704) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - OCT 1, 2015
bottle from pilsen’s old pivoteka. nutty brown with a shortlived beige head; loads of stewed fruit in the aroma, tending towards schnapps but just kept in check by some tinny hop character; modest bitterness with some prunes and plum jam and a light hint of chocolate spread; a bit messy but not awful
