0,75 l. bottle from the supermarket labeled as Jacobsen Abbey Ale but the beer is the same. Poured in to a trappist glass. Dark red-brown colour. Initially huge, but quickly diminishing head. Vineous aroma with chocolate and marcipan. Chocolate and caramel in a vineous taste with hints of banana. Same goes wwith the finish. Medium- to fullbodied, alcohol stays hidden. A decent beer for a bargain.

660 ml bottle. BB 11.01.2011. From Kbenhavn, Denmark.
Clear mahogany colour with small off-white head. Slightly artifical aroma of caramel, toffee, chocolate and sweet fruits. Flavour is unfortunately letting us down. This could be christmas edition of Carlsberg Lager. Sugar sweetness, some Dunkel notes but unfortunately thats it. Some alcohol sweetness but otherwise alcohol is quite well hidden. But much else on the positive side.

Pours chestnut brown with a nice light brown head. Nose has a flowery yeast standing out up front with a clear belgian impression., candy, brown sugar, malts are sweet and a bit nutty, sweet berries too. Taste is less on the yeast, malts are more clear with caramel and nuts, yeast is very light and adds a nice touch, works very well. I thought less of this beer before I had it, and was pleasantly surprised.

Flaske 66 cl. Amber eller rav farvet hlde med et lille off white hoved. Aromaen og smagen er sd i retning af kandis. Noter af frugt og krydderi aflses af en afbalanceret restbitterhed.
