Bottle from Fine Foods in CHP. Pours coppery brown with a beige head. Aroma is primarily chocolate. Or cacao. Med minus body. Favor is roasty, nutty malt with some chocolate aspects. Hop, but not sure what. It’s not undry, and it is bitter, but somehow it isn’t top hole. Drinkable. But not by choice.

On tap @ the brewery. Light mahogany brown body, small off-white head. Aroma is roasted nuts, brown bread, straw, caramel and hints of bread yeast and cereals. Taste is caramel, brown bread, nuts, nougat and hints of grains, straw and cereals. Medium body, medium to high carbonation. Very drinkable and tasty brown ale. Bottle @ DØE Køge. Appearance: pours clear red-brown with good off-white soapy head and lacing. aroma/taste: barley, caramel, nurs and some herbal and floral notes. palette: medium light roasted malty aroma, ave/rage carbonation, medium body, medium malty sweetness, balanced by a light to medium bitterness, average duration and an oily texture. Overall: nice roasted British brown ale

6 degrees C (too cold) Pours dark brown, almost black with a medium white head with low retention and some clotting . Aroma of roasted malt and caramel malt. Taste of the same malts but with a depth of chocolate and liquorice thankfully without becoming too sweet. Medium mouthfeel and carbonation. Well balanced but not very spectacular brew.
