Can from State Line. Nose strongly of peppers, some malt, some caramel, some dough, but really it's that earthy peppery character with a hint of lemon Pledge. Pour very lightly hazy but fiery bright orange, deep and saturated, with a rocky-foamy beige head. Taste medium-bitter, lightly sweet, strong dough and early, light-medium caramel, thick and creamy full body. Peppers aren't hot, smooth with just mild accumulation over volume. It's probably helpful to think of this as an old-school double IPA that's been scaled down slightly, lots of earthy and green vegetal notes under dough and (here) restrained bittering hops. A nice change of pace. [2017.09.02: 3.3] bulldogops (2885) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 24, 2017
Rating #2494 - 2016.05.04 - 2.5oz sample in plastic cup - BrewExpo for CBC. My tasting notes include #HollaAtYourPeno. I’m an idiot.
Pours a hazy golden orange with a medium white head. Aroma is first and foremost fleshy jalapeno. Flavour is decently warm, with some jalapeno heat, citrus sweet. Notes of grapefruit, lime permeate, and there is a tremendous sweetness that complements the subtle heat, for those that aren’t weak of heart or mind. Delicious pepper IPA. jgb9348 (6644) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - JAN 7, 2017
Very slightly hazy amber and copper coloured body with a nice, two centimetre tan head that fades modestly. Aroma of chiles, alcohol, a touch of malt and much more chile heat - no hops noticeable in the nose here at all. Medium-bodied; Assertive pungent chile heat hits hard at first then shows some subdued earthi8ness, a hint of floral and grassy complexities and some decent hop notes near the end with the bitterness purely visible. Aftertaste shows some chile heat, a lot of assertive pepper flavours and finishing with a good kick of chile and heat at first that fades to a decent enough beer. Overall, a good chile-based beer with a lot of good, but heavy and strong heat and spice characteristics that persist through the flavour and palate. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Harris Teeter in Falls Church, Virginia on 23-October-2016 for US$1,99 sampled at home in Washington on 06-January-2017. j12601 (13472) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - DEC 31, 2016

Got in a BIF from oline73. 12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 7/22/2016. Pours hazy deep orange/copper color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big jalapeno pepper, grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, lemon/orange peel, light pine, caramel, toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of jalapeno pepper, juicy citrus/tropical hops, and moderate dark/bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big jalapeno pepper, grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, lemon/orange peel, pine, caramel, toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus peel bitterness and light pepper spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of jalapeno pepper, grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, lemon/orange peel, pine, caramel, toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of jalapeno pepper, juicy citrus/tropical hops, and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness from bitter/spiciness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/sticky, and slightly resinous balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.9%; with minimal pepper heat as well. Overall this is a very nice pepper IPA! All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of jalapeno pepper, juicy citrus/tropical hops, and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink, with the minimal pepper spice and heat. Has nice presence of pepper flesh flavors in balance with a really juicy hop profile. A very enjoyable offering. jhamp9 (2025) - Corinth, Texas, USA - JUL 4, 2016

Can. Pours a clear copper body with a small fizzy off-white head. The nose is rather heavy on the green pepper, with a caramel malt base. The flavor isn’t nearly as bad as I was expecting from the aroma. The caramel sweetness dominates up front, then a slight hop bitterness, then finally some jalapeño pepper on the finish. Not a whole lot of hops in here, but they help tone down the sweetness. Medium bodied and just a bit clingy with fizzy carbonation. Not the biggest fan of pepper beers, but I suppose this one isn’t all bad.
