Bottle... Farewell to ibrew2or3... Pours dark brown with a small, creamy, light khaki head. Good retention. The nose is roasty and a bit smoky; burnt and leathery. Full-bodied with a mildly creamy mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. The flavor is burnt, bitter and carbonaceous with afterthoughts of lightly sweet molasses and dark syrup. Finishes singed, bitter and lightly dry. Bottle courtesy of Blazer06! kp (10880) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - DEC 25, 2011

22 ounce bottle. Pours a totally black color with a medium beige head. The aroma is sweet chocolates and roast, some pine. The flavor is excellent; rich nutty flavors, roast, huge milky chocolate very light pine hops. Certainly a porter in terms of flavor. Very good.

Courtesy of Blazer06, thanks Zack. Bottle pours dark mahogany with mocha looking head. The aroma has some pine hops, earthiness, some more pine hops and a bit of roasty malts to spicy black licorice at the end of the draw. The taste is smooth with malts, roasty malts to near burnt malts followed by firm levels of pine hops and a bit of spicy hops too. Nice one. Sledutah (7838) - Utah, USA - DEC 27, 2011

Appearance: Pours dark brown with a big frothy tan head and lots of sticky lacing
Aroma: Roasted malts, rich dried cocoa and pine
Taste: Roasted malts, dried chocolate powder, grainy and pine resin
This was a great IPA, loved it.
Heavy and chocolatey - more like a hoppy porter than a black IPA, but I may be splitting hairs here. Anyway, I got a lot of chocolate and a lot of hops. Kind of one dimensional, bu still tasty. decaturstevo (6343) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - DEC 16, 2012
Black pour with tan head and lace. Aroma of huge chocolate and a hinto abv. Chocolate, abv, light abv, and a decent bitter. Medium full body with good carbonation. Cybercat (6145) - Georgia, USA - APR 8, 2011
Pours an oily black with a fine-bubbled beige head. It is so opaque that not one photon gets through. Strong aroma is smoky, hoppy and malty with earthy and nutty hints. Flavor is strongly hoppy and woody, minimally bitter, and has touches of licorice, resin and caramel. Texture is quite fizzy and edgy with a fairly strong but not vicious alcohol nip. Big flavor? You betcha!
