bottle, thanks to the ericandersnavy, orange in color with a chocolatey cocoa aroma, flavor of sweaty hops, malty jtclockwork (17913) - , New Jersey, USA - JAN 17, 2011
Bottle shared by dmac at John’s tasting. Pours cloudy apricot with white head. Nose and taste of pineapple, hops, citrus, caramel malt and pine. Dry pine finish. dcschiller (2211) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - JAN 11, 2011
(22oz bottle courtesy of beersommellier!). Pours copper with 1 finger off-white head. Active carbonation. Aroma of some melon and cooked veggies. Maybe some grassy notes? Malty sweet with some light hops. Medium bodied with a slick texture. The flavors are a little off, but it does have nice body and mouthfeel. Its not bad at all, but its not an IPA. I think I got more hops when I burped than when I drank it. SpringsLicker (3692) - Tennessee, USA - JAN 9, 2011
Pours a clear medium orange with a tall sticky white head.
Fresh citrus hop aroma.
Crisp tart bitter flavor.
Very respectable IPA. elgiacomo (746) - Ringgold/Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, USA - JAN 2, 2011
22oz bottle. Pours cloudy yellow/amber with a large foamy white head that takes forever to settle and leaves tons of lacing along the way while holding a great cap. Aroma is citrus, oranges, tangerines, a bit of grapefruit, some floral and pine, bready and yeasty. Moderate strength. Could use more oomph in the aroma department. Flavor is citrus hops, oranges and lemons, herbal and grassy, a touch of pine, bready and light caramel malt for balance, fair bitterness, finishes dry. Mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied, medium carbonation, goes down nicely. Good well-balanced IPA, could use a bit more "kick", but enjoyable and easy-drinkin’.

Pours hazy golden orange with a big creamy white head that shows excellent retention and lacing.
Aroma is fairly tame for an IPA with some citrusy lemons and light grassy notes. There’s also a grainy toasty malt smell in the background. Not much sweetness.
The taste is similar with some malts balancing out the citrus hops. The finish is bitter with hops, though not flavorful hops, just bitter.
Mouthfeel is active with lots of carbonation. Light to medium bodied.
A drinkable and balanced IPA - another decent effort from Jailhouse though probably not quite as good as the stout. aracauna (3742) - Georgia, USA - DEC 27, 2010
This is not a very hoppy IPA. There’s really more bittering hops than aroma hops. Nice malt backbone. Tasty, but I’d like to see more aroma hops. dmac (6646) - Toms River, New Jersey, USA - DEC 21, 2010
22 oz bottle thanks to Matt. Poured a slight chil hazed orange/amber with fuller of white head. Aroma is not of the classic IPA tha I’m used to and has notes of earth, liter box, grass, hay, chocolate and celery. Fuller body with strong stingy carbontion. Favor of earth and liter box. Meh. pineypower (3353) - Ocean County, New Jersey, USA - DEC 21, 2010
Bottle thanks to Dmac via Matt. Pours out a clear moderate orange color with a small white head. Aroma is of some grass, light malt sweetness and some odd earthy notes. Taste is some bready malt, maybe some grassy hops in there somewhere, bitterness sticks with you a bit on the finish. Overall this didn’t have much direction. unclemattie (4406) - Georgia, USA - DEC 20, 2010
22oz bottle. light copper color. Nice lacing, even from the thin head. Although a bit more mild than what you’d find in most American IPAs, it tastes exactly as it should. Nice mellow biscuit malt, dry bread character. Hop bitterness in the tail, wood and citrus oils. Smells of spicy hops and hop florals. Very nice. Finishes clean and crisp, just right. Rating 2850.
