Rastacouere (6177) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 5, 2005
Deep ruby brown, no head at all. Anise and chocolate aroma has a minty edge to it, aftereight reminiscent as well as herbal, maple and lactic undertones. Darkish malts are sweet and caramelised on the palate, mint is still a factor while the roastiness reminds of coffee. Not quite as balanced as most, it feels like a low weight, light carbonation, fairly light body, fading flavours.

The Lure:
Sweet molasses on morning toast are always fun. Alcohol with candy fumes are often intruging. A tease of dark chocolate without delivery is rarely satisfying.

The Festivities:
A drop of caramel in the chocolate milk. Nutty sweetness remains low-profile, as roastiness gains from the svelte body. A good offering, but apparently tired and about to turn in early.

I am told that cocooning is gaining in popularity.

DavidP (1748) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 26, 2005
Dark brown body with a red tint. Thin tan head. Rummy aroma with grainy notes and tartness. Molasses-y flavor with tart grain husks. Baker’s chocolate finish. Nasty stuff.

Mangino (1027) - Mississippi, USA - MAY 25, 2005
Pours a very dark brown, small off white head. Aroma of rum, molasses and a little chocolate. Flavor is flat, more molasses, rum acidic, not a big fan. Thanks to 1FastSTI for sharing.

1FastSTi (3360) - Glendale, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 24, 2005
The aroma is dark chocolate and dark rum. The appearance is a black red body with a tan head that mostly stays and has pretty good lacing. The flavor is strong. Almost acedic in quality. Bitter coffee, rum, and chocolates. Medium full mouthfeel. Kinda flat and dry.

MIBRomeo (2570) - Wisconsin, USA - MAY 24, 2005
pours a deep drak color w/ a small tan head that laces ok. Aroma reminds me of a rum and coke lots of cheap rum smell some light malt nothing else comes out over ther rum scent. Palate is pretty middle of the road. Taste is like a bad rum and coke overly sweet w/ an odd bitterness and a nasty shit rum flavor. Overall I wouldn’t drink this again. At least it’s a new country to have rated.. thanks Blake.

caesar (7165) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - MAY 16, 2005
Dark cloudy color, short brown head. Aroma of black chocolat, some roasted malt, some coffee, bit salty. Sweet and bitter taste, malty. Nice brew.

skortila (5905) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - MAY 16, 2005
Roasted malty nose of chocolate and coffee. Black coloured with a lasting brown head. Taste is sweet, some bitterness. Bit dry, bit thin. Chocolate maltes. One dimensional but decent brewed.

11026 (1772) - Alabama, USA - APR 11, 2005
Bottle from LoweredSixth. Black in color. Soda pop brown head fades quicker than Mr. Palmero without the blue pill. Strange chemical aroma like some kind of glue, not entirely pleasant. Barely medium bodied. Roasted malt flavor with a touch of bitterness towards the finish. Fair.

Hildigöltur (5104) - København, DENMARK - APR 7, 2005
Dark brown coloured. Loads of raisins and prunes in the aroma. Even more raisins and prunes in the flavour. Sweet and one-dimensional. Rather light bodied.
