Kimchee and I did this one side-by-side with Dragon Stout and here's what we found: The colour is very dark brown (exactly the same). The aroma is fruity (raisin, prune) with stinging alcohol (basically the same). Flavourwise it is sweet, with lightish flavours of plums and sugary malts. Body is light. It is similar to, but less meaty than Dragon Stout. It has less malt complexity and deep, dark fruit esters. Alcohol seems reduced as well. There are too many similarities for these to be from different breweries, but this seems like a significantly lower-gravity version of the Dragon Stout.

Opaque dark brown colour with a thin tan coloured fizzy head that quickly disappears. Caramel and roasted coffee aroma. Light on flavour with some roasted character, finishing with a smoky bitterness. Light and slightly watery mouthfeel. Flavour and palate are a letdown after the aroma and appearance.

Oh, SOY can you see...as in soy sauce. There is a nice slickness on the palate, but the rest is vinegar, soy and coffee. I can see how others like it, as it isn’t run of the mill, and complex enough...just doesn’t taste to my liking.

pours a deep drak color w/ a small tan head that laces ok. Aroma reminds me of a rum and coke lots of cheap rum smell some light malt nothing else comes out over ther rum scent. Palate is pretty middle of the road. Taste is like a bad rum and coke overly sweet w/ an odd bitterness and a nasty shit rum flavor. Overall I wouldn’t drink this again. At least it’s a new country to have rated.. thanks Blake.

Dark brown, film for head. Faint coffee and chocolate, seems oxidized, can’t find a date on bottle though. Flavor has a nice chocolate kick to it up front, but fades into light sourness int he finish, could be past it’s prime. Body thin and watery.

Pour is a black with a smal tan head, Aroma is roasted malts with some lingering chocolate in the backround. Flavor is some sour dark fruit with a earthy malt. This is kinda wierd and i don’t think I need another.

I really had some high hopes for this stout, but I am a bit disappointed. It looked like the perfect combination, Jamaica, Stout, but the end product is kind of plain. For some reason this beer tastes fruity, like a dark beach drink. Honestly, I would rather have Red Stripe right now.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear flat black body with a one finger fizzy brown head that left some sparce lacing. The nose is rather sweet with some roastiness, and a hefty dose of burnt caramel. The flavor is a bit weak and thin, there’s a weird acrid burnt maltiness that doesn’t sit too well for the style or my personal preference. There’s also a rubbery note in there that isn’t too pleasant. Medium bodied with a slight stickiness that makes the rubber not stick around a bit too long. Soft fizzy carbonation. An unusual take, and not one that is especially good.

Healthy tasting taste that feels nice to drink, but doesn’t have an overbearing taste.

Bottle. Black colour with a medium baige head. Light roasted malty, chocolate, licorice aroma and a sweet light roasted, chocolate, Licorice, light alcoholic taste. Medium body with a light dry licorice finish.
