Kimchee and I did this one side-by-side with Dragon Stout and here's what we found: The colour is very dark brown (exactly the same). The aroma is fruity (raisin, prune) with stinging alcohol (basically the same). Flavourwise it is sweet, with lightish flavours of plums and sugary malts. Body is light. It is similar to, but less meaty than Dragon Stout. It has less malt complexity and deep, dark fruit esters. Alcohol seems reduced as well. There are too many similarities for these to be from different breweries, but this seems like a significantly lower-gravity version of the Dragon Stout. Opaque dark brown colour with a thin tan coloured fizzy head that quickly disappears. Caramel and roasted coffee aroma. Light on flavour with some roasted character, finishing with a smoky bitterness. Light and slightly watery mouthfeel. Flavour and palate are a letdown after the aroma and appearance. skaughty (652) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - NOV 10, 2004
Oh, SOY can you see...as in soy sauce. There is a nice slickness on the palate, but the rest is vinegar, soy and coffee. I can see how others like it, as it isn’t run of the mill, and complex enough...just doesn’t taste to my liking. MIBRomeo (2570) - Wisconsin, USA - MAY 24, 2005
pours a deep drak color w/ a small tan head that laces ok. Aroma reminds me of a rum and coke lots of cheap rum smell some light malt nothing else comes out over ther rum scent. Palate is pretty middle of the road. Taste is like a bad rum and coke overly sweet w/ an odd bitterness and a nasty shit rum flavor. Overall I wouldn’t drink this again.
At least it’s a new country to have rated.. thanks Blake. ManVsBeer (10264) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - AUG 27, 2012
Healthy tasting taste that feels nice to drink, but doesn’t have an overbearing taste.

Bottled. Chocolate cake aroma with some espresso notes. Chocolatey, bitter and coffeish taste. Problem is the underlying wateriness and thinbodiedness. The water flavour was too prominent. Ends rather dry. The aroma was so promising, but the body lacked. It´s a shame. Still drinkable, though. tiggmtl (4545) - East York, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 12, 2005
Sweet chocoate, vanilla, lavender and red licorice in the aroma. Opaque brown body with low tan head that recedes to ring. Chocolate and strawberry flavours with a lactic character and mild roasty bitterness. Medium-ful body with low carbonation and fair alcohol warming. Bottle (trade, Dec-04) sampled with MartinT, Oivier_MTL and Rastacouere. Thanks, Degarth! Emil (6065) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JAN 18, 2006

Bottle at home. This is a dark-colored beer. Very spicy, with a licorice, coffee and toffee taste. mgenti (6) - Alabama, USA - FEB 7, 2010 does not count
I’m a big lover of stouts but nothing really stands out about this particular one. It has a malty flavor but I would consider it to be one dimensional.
