I’m a big lover of stouts but nothing really stands out about this particular one. It has a malty flavor but I would consider it to be one dimensional. Atom (2455) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 1, 2011
12oz bottle pours dark brown/black with thin tan head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, and molasses. Taste has an astringent bitterness that is really off putting, roasted malts and chocolate taste almost chemical. DuffMan (10435) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 5, 2009
Sampled at the first annual Medicine Hat Beer Festival. Clear dark brown with amber highlights. Aroma is sweet caramel and chocolate with candy-like elements that bring to mind Tootsie Rolls. Lighter palate that is thin on burnt malt and dominated by syrupy sweetness, saved (somewhat) by a dry finish. Pretty average, but a very pleasant surprise to have found a foreign stout I hadn’t tasted at the Medicine Hat Beer Fest! MrWalker (926) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - FEB 18, 2006

Sharp chemical aroma. Taste of cheap chocolate and rum. Slightly alcoholic with a sharp aftertaste and no bitterness.
Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a small foamy brown head that faded fairly quickly. The aroma was faint licorice and molasses. The flavor was roasty and dryish with notes of licorice, wood, bourbon and fruity hops. Medium length finish with roasty malts, wood and licorice lingering. A bit thin in body for a stout. Ok.

Dark brown body with a red tint. Thin tan head. Rummy aroma with grainy notes and tartness. Molasses-y flavor with tart grain husks. Baker’s chocolate finish. Nasty stuff. Odyn (266) - New York, USA - MAR 6, 2009
Malty aroma with a little bit of chocolate, with a lovely black color. Sweet flavor with a malty finish. Hints of coffee and anise. Definitely a sipping beer, though a little too sweet and malty for my tastes. maxwelldeux (4374) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - JAN 7, 2014
Bottle. Pours a near black color with a small tan head that disappears quickly. Nose is a little sour and has some dark fruit elements in there, and a little dark roasty malts underneath. Taste is also a little sour, with a bitter roasty finish. Mangino (1027) - Mississippi, USA - MAY 25, 2005
Pours a very dark brown, small off white head. Aroma of rum, molasses and a little chocolate. Flavor is flat, more molasses, rum acidic, not a big fan. Thanks to 1FastSTI for sharing. bmanLS (134) - Gibsonia, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 13, 2011
Dark pour, thick brown head with lacing that remained on the glass. Thin body, coffee flavor with tin can or metal tones that I didn’t enjoy. I don’t plan to buy Jamaica Stout again.
