Pours a crisp medium red-amber with a tall off white head that has decent retention and leaves a respectable lacing. Aroma is of burnt sugar, caramel, toasted grain, crusty bread and leafy hops. Flavor is toasted grain, caramel, sweet barley, homemade crusty honey-wheat bread, a hint of floral and leafy hops, maybe just a touch of yeasty bread dough. FInish is crisp, slightly bitter and bready. Palate is thin-medium, smooth and well carbonated, leading to a dry, spicy finish. Not bad but nothing special, better viennas for a better price easily available. Reminds me of some west coast "ambers". dgardne5 (1) - , Iowa, USA - JAN 26, 2009 does not count

This one was medium red with a long lasting beige head. Definitely the aroma of bread you’s expect from a Vienna. Hops were definitely in the background , but had a spice to them to balance. Not bad. ketchepillar (1199) - Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA - MAY 31, 2008
It appears I’m going with the average. This beer was a little tough for me to put my finger on. At times like a (pale) ale, at times an amber quality came out and it seemed more lagery. Anyhow, not much hops. "Toasted" and "bready" are quite adequate descriptors as illinismitty wrote. Pretty clean beer.

Bottle from Alexsdad06. Thanks! Pours a solid medium amber with a nice beige head. Nice aroma of dark bread and lager yeast. Flavor is heavy with munich malts and bread grains with a moderate spicy bitterness to balance it out. Some toastiness on an otherwise clean finish. Not bad at all. phishpond417 (2088) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 7, 2008
Decent beer overall, this one pours a brownish amber colour with a nice soft sticky beige head. Noticeabley sweet malts midpalate. with prevalent aromas of balanced hops, cranberries and red licorice. bhensonb (15747) - Woodland, California, USA - APR 16, 2008
Bottle. Sort of a bland, not very sweet caramel aroma. Nice amber color with no head at all. Near medium body with very little carbonation. Sort of a bland not very sweet caramel with hints of hop. Decent enough, but not anything to get excited about. I suspect the bottle is atypical in that it lacks carbonation, but I don’t think more fizz would change my feeling. puggy211 (712) - cordova, Tennessee, USA - APR 12, 2008

Pours a rich amber color yet with a taste that is quite thin. It was an ok beer but not really what I was expecting.
