3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark copper to amber pour with a 3 finger, fluffy beige head that has great retention and leaves nice lacing. Aroma of woody malts, caramel, spicy, planty and citrus hops and a nice, bright fruitiness, that I can’t really place, maybe yeast or hop related reminds me of tart berries and melons. Flavor is loaded woody, husky malts, some caramel, toffee, toasted bread, lots of pine and hop bitterness, along with grainy tannins to the finish. Light body with a chalky, dry feel and medium carbonation. Not bad, but there is too much planty, tannin type bitterness.
Can - good size foamy head, sweet grapefruit hop aroma and flavor, sweet caramel malt backbone (a little too sweet), very mild bitter finish, ok overall

Poured from can, pours a clear dark copper with a creamy off white head, aroma is of sweet malt and caramel, no hop presence at all, flavor is pretty bad, infected maybe, starts out sharp and bitter with a nail polish like finish, kind of burns, ugh. drpimento (3642) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 23, 2014
Based upon appearance and aRoma I thought I might be onto a hidden gem here. Poured with a large cream colored head that went away after a bit, plenty of lace and a clear honey colored amber color. Aroma is hops fruit malt. Flavor is not nearly as good as aRoma. Quite dry, medicina,l new leather, a bit astringent, not so good. Body suffers a little from the weird bitter astringency.

From can. Pours a pretty amber with a touch of tan head that quickly dissipates. Malty nose. Caramel and grass in the taste. Lack of balance is off putting--kind of like a loud stereo on a chopped Honda Civic--too much bottom. Clean finish. Decent red, but not a lot of ipa qualities in this one. Hesitant to try this blind being a sixer and all, wow. Outstanding beer. I am thrilled that I have 5 more after this. A red IPA is the best definition and name. Really, really pleased with this.

Cara-amber with a rocky beige crown. Aroma of toffee, dusty malts and citrus underneath. Taste is sweet and fruity with toffee, citrus, caramel and a mild bitter finish. CanIHave4Beers (4187) - Pouring Bus, Iowa, USA - DEC 7, 2013
Live Rate from my phone? Why the F not? Pours a brownish red with a big but spotty head. Aroma offers caramel & toasted malts. Aroma also offers some citrus & piney hops. Flavor offers a good bit of astringency... Some hop fruitiness is offered as is a good dosing of toasty and caramelly malts. boozedude (2228) - Des Moines, Iowa, USA - OCT 20, 2013

Can. Deep orange pour with a cream colored head. Musky caramel malt and sharp grassy hops. Not my favorite.
