Ohboyohboyohboy, another pale lager of nondescript origin from central Canada! I doubt I’ll ever try them all, Ontario’s just too big a place for me to wrap my head around, but I try to try them when I find ’em. So this one pours with some decent head and an orange body, with zero carbonation apparent. Aroma is classic lager cardboard - nothing more, nothing less. Flavour is a watery malt mess that is close to a non-alc beer, but somehow this might be a good thing since this is supposed to be 5.5%; oh, I guess it’s more of a swampwater effect really. However this could be a decent brew for a fine spring day in May on your lakefront cottage, a few dozen of these in the cooler with the fishing rod out. Yeah, I could get into that. But actually I’d probably just end up drinking something that waste actually tasty instead of this. edpeg (908) - Berlin, GERMANY - MAR 16, 2013
Pale yellow clear body with white lacing head. Aromas sweet malts, grains. Palate thin with medium carbonation and mouth feel. Aftertaste is slightly bitter, papery with weak short hops finish. Rather mild lager, easy to drink, flavorless. Overall pretty bulky and not worth second try. BlackHaddock (7951) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAR 4, 2013
341ml Bottle: BBD 31 Jul 2013. Drank in my Berlin hotel room on 25 Feb 2013 (don’t ask!).
It’s a Lager: clear golden, bright and clean looking, usual white head.
Grainy nose and taste: typical International Lager/Pilsner without any interesting or different attributes to the thousands of others out there.
Nothing wrong with it: just your usual, unusual Lager/Pilsner. DuffMan (10751) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 30, 2012
Can. Pale gold colour, average white head. Sweet grainy aroma and flavour. Standard Canadian mass produced shitty lager. As Rosser would say: BOOOORRRRIIINNNGGG! boobooi (28) - - DEC 23, 2012
Pretty bad beer. The only good thing about this beer is that it is cheap. If you actually want a good tasting beer, I would avoid this one.

JR 5.5 was the staple of my university beer-drinking experience. Beyond the taste itself, we loved the campaign the company ran - from blank caps, to calendars, this is a brand that even if I didn’t like the taste, I would drink just for the fun the brand provides. redpooba (411) - Texas, USA - MAY 12, 2012
A light beer in color and taste. Truly the only memorable thing is that it's one of canada's cheaper beers.

Clear medium yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, sweet malt, fruity sweet, floral. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet with a average duration, sugary, sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Clear golden of color with a small white head. An aroma of sweets, butter, malt and weak hay. A flavor of citrus, malt, butter, sweets and weak bitterness. Dedollewaitor (16539) - Odense, DENMARK - JAN 28, 2012
