1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Feels right on the tongue. Has no bad flavors. Just not the best brew out there. Kinda like that alpine shot.
355ml can from the beer store. pours straw yellow with lively carbonation. Frothy white head with surprisingly good retention and lacing.Aroma contains strong metalic notes, corn, hay. light thin body with lively carbonation. mildly sweet (brewing sugar?) mild bitterness. abrupt finish. Meh. I prefer the 5.5. That’s not saying much though... MarkoR (959) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 1, 2013
Can. Bought at NB Liquor. Ah come on! Why try to right anything about this beer?! It’s not good. There’s no more to say.

(Rating #4553) Spab (3904) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 16, 2012
355 ml can from The Beer Store. Pours a clear bright yellow with quickly disappearing white head. Aroma is straight up corn but at least somewhat mild. Flavour is foul, chemically/corny mess with some alcohol notes. Body is on the light side. Pretty nasty, although that’s what I get for drinking it other than ice cold.

From can. Extremely pale in color with thick white head. Aromas of corn, wheat and black licorice. Typical macro brew mouthfeel. Taste of corn and alcohol. The high gravity helps to give this discount beer some character. Still bad, but better than many macros and certainly better than the regular and light James Ready offerings. 355ml can. I’m beginning to think this might be Alpine Max, or a very similar recipe. Weak corny aroma. Decent head and a slightly darker yellow than the JR Light. Taste was rather thin lager funk and sweet malt. Palate was watery heavy. Overall, it is a cheap way to get hammered, nothing more. mansquito (6503) - Nueva York, New York, USA - MAR 4, 2012
The Beer Store six-pack: Pours an extremely pale color with an extremely weak head. Aroma is pale lager. Taste is minimal, and at the end of the day, not really that bad. I would rather drink this piss than something like Keystone Ice. Metalchopz (3419) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 21, 2011
Purchased in a 6-pack of 355ml cans with a big "JR 6.0" written on them. Pours a medium golden colour with a white head, low retention but decent lace. Malty, mildly sweet nose with a bit of alcohol, corn and chemical notes. Tastes pretty much the same with hints of apples in the finish. Written "For best results: pull tab". I sure hope so... or do they not want us to do shotguns with these cans ?? Not sure why they came out with a version with only 0.5% more than their original. pootzboy (1758) - Kitchener, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 17, 2011
Pale clear straw color.....massive head reduces quickly and leaves little lace. Aroma is faint but mostly dextrin sweetness and fusel alcohol. Light bodied, fluid mouth feel, mild flavor of sweet dextrin adjuncts and LME, no hop presence to speak of.....fast finish with a harsh dextrin-alcohol after taste.
Typical corporate adjunct brew, not to my taste but I’m sure there are plenty of students who are willing to risk the raging headache dextrin brews produce when over imbibed.
