Brewed using Nelson Sauvin and Amarillo hops this sessionable pale is sure to please. “One Fifty Lashes is a refreshing Australian-style cloudy pale ale with restrained bitterness and a clean, smooth finish. It’s an easier-drinking beer than others in the James Squire range and a familiar style that Australian beer drinkers will recognise. The use of malted wheat also adds to its refreshing character delivering a beer with a fruity nose and hints of passionfruit, grapefruit and citrus,”

UPDATED: JUL 4, 2017 Score: 3/2/4/1/8. 330mL can from Dan Murphy’s, BB Dec 2017. $13 for 10 cans on a rare special. Also previously had many jugs of this on tap.
Appearance: Like a yellow fizzy lager that cannot maintain a head after pouring. Some lacing.
Aroma: Light citrus and malt. Not much going on.
Taste: Tiny citrus hops. Mostly sweet breadish malt. No passionfruit that the label advertises. The 4.2% is is masked and feels more like 2%.
Palate: Watery thin body. Overcarbonation.
Overall: Basic industrial tasting macro beer. It would not help convert any macro drinkers to craft beer. Best with savoury food that’s slightly sweet. The can is 15mL smaller than the bottle. Have some bread instead.

Tap at the Crafty Squire, Russell St Melbourne. Poured a hazy straw colour with a thin white head and some broken lace. The aroma is malt light woody hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light crisp grainy malt light fruit hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation.

from Bier-Bienne - bright and translucide bronze beer, no head retention; mineral nose with notes of pears; thin-bodied, subtle carbonation; dry and with some harsh bitterness; metallic, grainy and fruity finish - not terrible

UPDATED: JAN 2, 2017 On tap at Torquay Hotel. Pours cloudy straw. Fruity nose. Tastes light fruity citris. No bitterness, malt or real hops taste. Just quite pleasant easy, light and fresh drinking. Pretty non-offensive. Better draught than in a can or a bottle, seems more fruity.

dnicolaescu (2746) - Chișinău, MOLDOVA - NOV 2, 2016
CAN 33 CL. Hazy golden, white head. Barely any aroma, just a hint of canned fruit. Dry husky corny malts, with bit of corn syrup sugars behind and a lot of carbonic acid on top. Nasty.

Tezminator (302) - AUSTRALIA - OCT 31, 2016
Aroma is notes of grain and straw. Mild citrus notes with some pine notes and sweet malts. It is not bad.

DylansDad (663) - North Shore, Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - JUL 13, 2016
Hints of citrus, floral dust, straw and metal struggle, and ultimately fail, to rise above the insipid wateriness of the body. Not offensive but not for me.
