COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed using Nelson Sauvin and Amarillo hops this sessionable pale is sure to please. “One Fifty Lashes is a refreshing Australian-style cloudy pale ale with restrained bitterness and a clean, smooth finish. It’s an easier-drinking beer than others in the James Squire range and a familiar style that Australian beer drinkers will recognise. The use of malted wheat also adds to its refreshing character delivering a beer with a fruity nose and hints of passionfruit, grapefruit and citrus,”

Draught & tap pretty much anywhere...
Had to try this after it came #7 in this years hottest 100!!!!
Or not... but yea, pale yellow sort of thing with slight haze.
Grainy bready aroma, faint floral sort of stonefruit hop thing happening on the nose.
Medium-light body, really a let down on the palate, very little flavour, lager-like but not as clean, bit of grainy malt, faintest of hops, soft bitterness.
A step above the macro-lager; not a big one.

4.7%ABV. American Pale ale.

Tapped out a nice pale amber. 6°SRM.

Nose has some nice sweet grain aromas. Sweet malty aroma with a cider-like very slightly acetic nose.

Mouthfeel is carbonated and lightly sudsy. Pale malt, wheat, maybe some millet or sorghum. No hops.

Clean light finish. Brief beery end. Nice light pale ale over all.

On tap is decidedly different to bottle. Both OK, but on tap better. Mild aroma of pine and citrus but you have to work too hard to get it. Pale golden colour white head. One finger of foam. Not crystal clear, but not overly cloudy either. Head, holds OK and lacing OK but not great. Refreshing with some hops up front only mild bitterness. As the commercial deScription states, it is an easier-drinking style.

345 ml bottle. Great thirst quencher on a warm day. Solid white head, very refreshing with good mouth feel and dry fruity taste. Delicate after taste that lingers.

Tap. Cloudy yellow, white lace. Light hayish malt, restrained but pleasant aromatic hops. Good quencher.

On tap at Charming Squire, Brisbane on 3rd September 2015. Hazy gold with shallow off-white, lacing foam. Fresh citric and fruity hops in aroma. Hoppy liquid, rather like a Pilsner, such as Urquell. Lemony citric finish. Light bodied with a zingy mouthfeel.

345ml bottle, 03/08/15. Bright, straw colour with a disappointing, dull, off-white head which quickly disappeared but left traces of fine lacing. Aroma of .................grain......vegies......maybe? Light to medium sweetness, hint of bitterness. Just downed my last mouthful without paying attention to the palate. Sticky sulphur in the finish. Drinkable but not particularly enjoyable. 4.

It has a snow white soapy head, the aroma is of metal and chemicals, some hay, I don’t get anything else. The taste is thin, straw, sudsy.

Aroma is good here. Like to drink 150 in Australia as it’s very refreshing on those warmer days. Clean and smooth and easy to drink.
