Not for the faint hearted an American style Pale Ale with a firm malt backbone. Simcoe hops deliver a passionfruit and and slightly pine-needle like aroma whilst the addition of Columbus adds further complexity and an earthy, spicy character.

Bottle. Pours a nice Golden colour Aroma. smells of citrus mainly Taste. Very piney, backed by a slight sweetness. Overall. On entry this beer is very good, but its lack of complexity and flavour really let it down, still quite a good beer none the less, just nothing too special.

Tap @ oatley rsl. Nice amber/orange with solid white head and good lacing. Good aromas of pineapple, tropical and citrus fruits. Earthy hops with an a overbearing malt sweetness. "Hop thief" ?? Hardly ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

345ml bottle. Deep amber with small head. Light malty aroma with tangerine and light grapefruit. Light honey taste with toffee, biscuit, a little tangerine and lemon. A little bit of cardboard in the finish. Light bodied and low carbonation. For a beer touting its use of simcoe and columbus hops, this is a bit disappointing and bland. Certainly pales (pardon the pun) against the Hop Thief 7 I had on tap last night which was much more aromatic and juicier in taste.

Simcoe kicks you in your noses balls. grassy and sweet aroma. malty, dms-y, butterscotch toffee sweet on the tongue. overcarbonated. Only if its the best thing available - with the next best option being something like...coopers pale.

Darkish amber colour with little head to speak of. Strong flowery hops to the nose. Bitter and hoppy, quite dry. Leaves a cloying, bitter after taste. Its ok.

Strong floral hops nose (surprise!) Ruby red in schooner glass at Pyrmont Bay pub. Taste is intense, mad with hops. Bitter aftertaste. Really nice.

Bottle from Beer Cartel (May 2014). Dark amber/copper, minimal off-white head, subtle passionfruit, pine, a bit citrusy, some sweet caramel malt, thin, oily texture, low grassy bitterness. Ok.

No legs or head but nice reddish amber colour and pleasant hoppy smell and taste. Bitter but tasty yet simple. No real lingering after taste. Sunny day beer.

345ml bottle Bb March 2015 Pale amber body, good clarity, small white head. Decent enough aroma; spicy, woody hops, touch of passion fruit & citrus, a touch of biscuity, light caramel malt underneath. Medium body & carbonation. Palate delivers a modest amount of woody, piney, citrusy American hops with a smidgeon of pale malt to balance. Restrained bitterness on a somewhat short finish. A reasonable APA, certainly far more impressive than the golden & pale ales. Would be nice to see this as a full time offering to the JS range
