Mild coffee aroma with a burnt toffee flavour, pretty good beer, not the best but well worth a try.
Dark body white head. Slight roast and malty elements but, despite the proclaimation on the label, it lacks flavour or complexity. The Katoomba Porter i had earlier in the day was much better. jmgreenuk (9545) - Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA - MAY 23, 2017
Tap at the Crafty Squire, Russell St Melbourne. Poured a clear reddish brown with a frothy off white head. The aroma is caramel malt, creamy toffee. The flavour is moderate sweet light liquorice bitter with a smooth light dry roasty malt dry ashtray palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. papat444 (136) - Carignan, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 20, 2017
Appearance: Black like Coke with a decent amount of head that fades a little to barely a thin ring. Pretty much like most porters.
Smell: Strong brown sugar, almost burnt a little bit with some caramel. Quite delightful.
Taste: At first, it tasted a little like weak coffee but as it warmed, it became a little more flavorful with some chocolate and roasted notes. It’s still nothing complex but it’s still fairly good.
Mouthfeel: Higher than expected carbonation with a smooth feel. Good enough body for the style.

345 ml bottle at the lobby bar in Ayres Rock (Desert Sails Hotel). Pours black with small tan head. Mild aroma of toasted malt. Overall flavour was toasted malt and chocolate. Ok, not great.

On tap at The Charming Squire, pours a deep dark brown with a reddish tinge and a small beige head. Aroma brings out soy sauce and light toasted malt. Flavour is similar, with dry toasted malt and light soy sauce notes. Boring but clean, despite the soy sauce.

Shared with wim at my home. Black colored beer with large diminishing brown head and no carbonation visible. Malty roasted aroma. Full sparkling palate. Finish is bitter roasted malty sweet. ladnewton (1979) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 14, 2015
On Tap at Charming Squire, Brisbane on 9th September 2015. Black with creamy off-white foam and partial lacing. Mildly roasty aroma. Citrus, roastiness and touches of smoke in-mouth. A short, roasty finish becoming fruity and slightly smoky. Zingy mouthfeel and medium body. DuffLover (127) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - SEP 1, 2015
Out of a bottle in the outback. Good smokey malted flavor, but too carbonated for my palate.
