Gr0ve (2176) - Oslo, NORWAY - AUG 6, 2013
500 ml bottle. Very dark brown. Clear. Small off-white head. Classic licorice aroma with hints of dark chocolate and toffee. Hints of smoke. Rich malty flavours, but body is medium. A very nice baltic porter. Classic profile.

500ml bottle from Systembolaget. Dark brown with a beige, creamy head, rich lacing on the glass. Roasted malt aroma, chocolate, molasses, leather and mild smoke. Smooth mouthfeel, gentle carbonated. Mild and sweet taste, chocolate, coffee, toffee and dark bread. Smooth finish with hints of black pepper, dark bread and licorice. Not very complex but grows for each sip.

Fra 0,33 l flaske på RBHD-samling hos/på Bryne. Klar sviskefarget kropp med lys ring langs glasset. Good røstet mokkabønner. God røstet smak med innslag av dadler. God ettersmak som av en god kaffi. God fylde.

This is not a baltic porter per se. Almost opaque black, creamy coffee head. Roasted, tobacco nose. Chocolaty, roasted with long roasted aftertaste. Well-balanced, enjoyable (imperial) stout.

Sample at SBWF 2012. Dark brown with a medium tan head. Aroma and taste of chocolate, coffee and roasted malt. The finish was dry and bitter. Quite tasty.

Draught (Stockholm Beer Festival 2012) - Dark brown with red tinges. Roasted malt, coffee and liquorice in the aroma. Roasted and fairly rich taste with notes of plain chocolate, coffee and liquorice.

Pours pitch black with a foamy head. Aroma of roasty malts, hints of licorice and chocolate. Taste is roasty and malty with some licorice notes. Finish is roasty with some sticky notes. Okay, quite basic but well balanced baltic porter.

AR: roasted malt, milk chocolate, some coffey notes, when poured some vanilla fudge AP: dark dark ambery brown, creme brown stouthy steady 1 cm high head F: rich in carbonation, coffey more then chocolate, soft warming feeling, caramel nuttiness, dry in finish, medium bitterness
