Aroma of roasted malts and bitter chocolate. Very dark brown beer with red tones. Head is beige and creamy, not long lasting. Flavour is sweet and filled with bitter chocolate. Finish is dry, with good cleansing bitterness. Soft on the palate, a bit watery body. Even though it is bottom-fermented, it tastes more like a decent porter than a schwartzbier MrWalker (926) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - OCT 24, 2005

To me it’s more a dark lager than a schwartzbier. Very dark, lots of roasted character but still lets the hops through. Refreshing for a dark beer like this. NIce aftertaste.
Bottled. Dark reddish brown colour. Beige, small head. Chocolatey, caramelly aroma. Roastmalty, bitterchocolatey taste. Not very hoppy for the style. Medium bitter and roasty finish. Mediumbodied. A great, though untypical schwarzbier. Thanks to MrWalker for this nice treat. ogivlado (8108) - Zagreb, CROATIA - SEP 18, 2005
Bottled(500ml). -dark brown colour with a lasting brown foamy head, a bit too sweet just like Hell, strong malty and slightly floral aroma with caramel and chocolate notes, nice bitter finish Papsoe (25056) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 14, 2005
(Bottle 50 cl) "Hell" was a pale beer so this "Heaven" s’gotta be black? Somehow I would’ve expected things the other way around. Anyways, this really is pitch black with a small light brown head. Dry and bitter with a lovely hoppy aroma and an almost absent sweetness. A bit too ashy for my liking. 260405

Poured a reddish mahogany color with a thin, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of smoke, caramel, and roasted malts. Chocolate, light roast, toffee, some citrus hoppiness, and a light bitterness in the finish. Hildigöltur (5103) - København, DENMARK - JUL 13, 2005
Draught at Oliver Twist. Dark reddish brown coloured. Very malty and slightly fruity with notes of chocolate. Smooth mouthfeel. Very nice. ThomasE (5174) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUL 12, 2005
Dark brown colour with a tan head. Hoppy aroma with a coffe note. Roasted malty flavor with some chocolate bitterness. MiP (15973) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - JUN 18, 2005
Bottle. Hoppy, very dusty aroma. Also fruity, roasted malts. Almost black colour with a red hue. Small unstable, light brown head. Very malty and quite roasted flavour, but still mild. Aftertaste has some roasted barley bitterness. Quite nice, semi-smooth mouthfeel. joergen (29216) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUN 12, 2005
Dark brown coloured with a small off white head.
