JorisPPattyn (9882) - Ursel, BELGIUM - DEC 26, 2003
Very dark colour, nearly black; dark greige-brown head, fast dissipating. Very (dark)bready, chocolate & varnish nose. Bread aroma gets more burnt - Maillard? Dry, bitterish taste. Grainy flavours like specific dark grains, roaste barley or oats; slight acidic finish included. Bit smoked too. Mouthfeel bit thinnish, unlike all the grainy flavours would suggest. Good dark bottom-fermenting beer. 'Starkol' is Scandinavian perception. Big thanks to Bjorn & Anders for the Jämtlands choice.

Draught. Small and quickly disappearing off-white head. Clear dark red brown body. Caramel coffee aroma. Coffee hops flavor in a very good balance. Low carbonation. Long burned malt aftertaste.

Erzengel (8447) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - DEC 2, 2013
