Dark amber, with red shades; thin collar. Big aroma: malt, roasted malt, porto wine, liquorice. Also very good body character, malt, roasted malt, some fruitness; well round. Finishes with a well hopped and roasted malt final. Really an interesting one. Jeppe (2634) - Brooklyn, Alabama, USA - FEB 19, 2004

Dark brown beer with a fine brown head. Sweet and full aroma of malt, chocolate and caramel with creamy and Jämtland yeasty notes. Mostly sweet in the flavor, roasted malty with spice, hop and fruit. Tasty and well-balanced and really smooth. A beer I could drink again and again.
Didn’t take any notes so this is from what I seem to recall. Pours up very dark with thin brownish head. Aroma is rosted barley and chocolate. Taste is chocolate and oragane peel. Quite well hopped. Lovely.

A very good Shwartz, thanks to Abusmaster. With roasted graininess and creaminess, and a moderate malty aroma and good laciness. Brown with white head.Secondary chocolate and coffee/postum. A great session at 5%. Smooth drinking. Medium mouthfeel. kmweaver (3208) - Petaluma, California, USA - NOV 7, 2007
50cL bottle, courtesy of omhper. Thanks, Per! Pours a very deep dark mahogany color; bright off-white head with creamy, medium-sized bubbles (almost like milk froth) with textured, thin lacing. Plenty of nougat and lightly roasted malts in the aroma; cocoa powder and chocolate; sweet without being sticky. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: plenty of cocoa and milk chocolate and nougat; a warm vanilla note permeates the mid-palate, with a bready note, and slight citrus adding some nice acidity. Lengthy, doughy and vanilla finish; ends quite soft (think: cloud).
User110792 (60) - - SEP 4, 2011
Bottle @ Grövelsjöns Fjällstation. An old friend that has been absent for a while (at least in Stockholm). A huge beer. Big creamy head, off-white. Colour of deep read wine, almost black. Citrus aroma with malts lurking underneath. A lot of malt in the body with some caramel icing on top. Medium-small carbonation. A nicely balanced bitter ending. Delicious mouth-feel and entirely drinkable. As I said, an old friend. AnG_BrgNor (819) - Bergen, NORWAY - NOV 21, 2015
0.5 l bottle Systembolaget. Aroma is burned, roasted, some coffe, some liquorice and a little bit hops. Taste is roasted/burned malt with som coffe and chocolate. A nice long bitter aftertaste. A nice beer.
