Bottle from Hotel Jamteborg, Östersund. This is a really decent lager. It had a strong bitterness which I don’t know if it is brilliant or not nice but it is smooth as a moisturised bottom cheek. Big grass aftertaste. As far as a lager goes, very decent indeed. Shame scores don’t reflect it too much in lagers here.

Bottle split at Islo tasting, thanks to Chris and Ruth, 07/07/16. Lightly hazed golden orange with a decent off white cap. Nose is bitter orange, straw, bread dough, grains, caramel, light oxidised nip. Taste comprises tangerine, floral bite, straw, toasted malts, grains, caramel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent for style.

Bottle share at Craft Beer Co Islington as ’Jämtlands Hell’. Many thanks to Chriso for this beer of indeterminate age. Dark orange, still, slight haze, foamy cream head, some lacing. Aroma is apple, light bubblegum, yeasty, malt sugars, light oxidation. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is smooth malt, touch of sherry, light yellow plum. Pretty good for age. Would be interesting to try it fresh to see if I’d give it a lower score! (3.0)

Big Bottle share at Craft Islington. Thanks to Chris and Ruth. Hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is thin and dry, decent fine carbonation. Weird sweet and sour malts, some ripe floralness. Light dry finish. Quite odd.

Flavour is composed of sweet nutty grains, stale, apple, stale sweet grains. Palate is semi sweet, moderate carbonation grainy. Meh.

Scopey (16537) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 10, 2016
"Vintage" bottle at Craft Islington, thanks to Chris & Ruth. It pours clear deep golden - amber with a thick white head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, stewed orange, candy, lemonade, limeade, bread and melon. The taste is bitter - sweet, sticky, white bread, grain, orange, tinned peach and slight oiliness with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Decent for its advancing years.

50cl bottle shared at the July London Tasting @CBC Islington. Many thanks to Chris and Ruth. It pours a clean golden color with a small white head. Bottle shared in London - huge thanks to Chris O for sharing this treat! Pours clear gold with a creamy, white head. The nose has melon, ripe orange, pale bread. Sweet, bready, with light hay bitterness. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finaihes with more doughy, bready sugars, vague citrus notes. Fine.

BeerViking (5195) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 7, 2016
RB bottle share, 5 years past its best-before, hazy golden brown with a fine white head, nose has beeswax and a little sweetcorn, palate is still reasonably crisp and malty, light peppery hop finish.
