UPDATED: JUN 28, 2005 (Bottle 50 cl) Very dark brown, almost black with a rather small head and rather low carbonation. Top-fermented and very malty with a good bitterness and an underlying sweetness. Very full-bodied. Actually reminds me of a Belgian "Dubbel". 090603

mabjork (692) - Vasa, FINLAND - DEC 19, 2006
Bottled. Dark red/brown in colour, rich creamy beige head, lacings. The aroma is malty and sweet. Caramel and something else as well, can’t say what. The flavour is a mixture of malt and caramel. There is a sweet aftertaste. Nice.

Dark ruby beer, bottled. Rich and malty. Sweet, a little burned sugar. Some hoppy dryness, though it comes across as too sweet.

ClubGonzo (5670) - Bergen, NORWAY - APR 13, 2012
Bottle, shared with Bergen Beer Geek Tasting Crew’s Epic Abstrakt/Blåbær tasting, feat. special guests Foffern and StoreMy. :-) Deep coppery amber body, small off-white head. Nose is raisins, coca-cola, hints of herbs, dark malts and caramel. Taste is present caramel, dark malts, molasses and sawdust (mostly in the aftertaste). Wood-ish, dry aftertaste with a slightly parching touch. A pretty decent Christmas ale.

visionthing (5363) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JAN 16, 2015
50cl bottle from Systembolaget, Strömstad. Pours clear copper coloured with an off-white head. Malty aroma with some spicy, caramelly and fruity notes, raisins and hints of herbs. Sweet, malty and somewhat fruity with hints of spices and a medium bitter finish. Well balanced and quite tasty. Nice Christmas beer, but still a bit too much on the sweet side.

charmarita (66) - AUSTRALIA - NOV 24, 2016
Pours from bottle clear dark brown with minimal tan head -- looks like coke in a glass. Aroma sticky date pudding. Taste medium sweet. Palate medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation, long finish growing in bitterness. Overall nice example of a Christmas ale.
