This is my favorite beer, deliciously textured with depths of dark roasty flavours. Hildigöltur (5104) - København, DENMARK - JUN 20, 2002
Beautiful light brown creamy and tasty head. Very complex aroma with notes of coffee, dark chocolate and wood. Quite full taste considering it's only 4.8%. Suberb dry and bitter finish. The best of Systembolaget. Thanks Per... Tolik99 (47) - USA - JAN 12, 2003
The nectar of Gods. Very smooth, coffeish, malty with touch of oatmeal...... Slick (1969) - Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA - DEC 1, 2002
I finally got a bottle after going to 8 stores well worth the time spent finding it.nice head ,aroma, malty, well balanced, slight bitterness in the finish but doesn't last long all around fine brew.Gotta love a Swede jbrus (4989) - Delft, NETHERLANDS - APR 13, 2002
The aroma is light roasted, chocolate, full off malts. Black is the color with red against the light. Off-white frothy/creamy head, very good lacing. Moderate full, starts sweet, light roasted, hoppy, chocolate malts. The finish is more bitter of hops and roasted. The finish could be a bit fuller. But what a beer with just 4.8%!

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2004 Black with the best of heads. Aroma from toffee, malty and very pleasant. Flavor is malty as well. Toffee is there and brings a little milk chcolate. Very, very good. egajdzis (6692) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 25, 2004
Poured a very dark brown / mahogany / reddish color with a tight, medium sized, tan, creamy head and nice lacing on the glass (looked like it was poured from a nitro tap). Bitter roast, chocolate, hops, and smoke aroma. Very creamy (think milkshake) mouthfeel. Chocolate, dark fruits, roasted oats, anise, coffee, and cream. Phenomenal! A wonderful porter! Thanks Mads! duff (5484) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - APR 18, 2002
My favourite porter to date, great deep brown to black appearance. Great roasty coffee and caramel flavours, with a long spicy, bitter finish, thanks per!!! YogiBeera (2569) - New Jersey, USA - FEB 5, 2003
My nose was stuck in the glass as this smells so wonderful. First resinous and then chocolate tones and toastiness and hoppiness - oh happiness. Dat smeket. Nice medium frothy hazelnutbrown sheet on this dark brown - red liquid. Right on the tongue a refreshing feeling while drinkingit, pricking on the tongues sides. Nice long lasting roasted aftertaste, dry finish. Hoppy intervalls. Great balance - thanks so much Per! hennes (934) - Fountain, Michigan, USA - JUN 16, 2002
Big dried cherry (smoked cherry?) flavour to begin, edged with roasted malts. The flavour opens up as it warms, adding molasses and bitters. This one is a rich red wine to Slaotskallans Svart's graceful white, a juicy steak to that one's pork tenderloin. Where do these weird comparisons come from? A well cooked dinner and fine day of tasting in Albion with PyschProf ...
