Bottle from Systembolaget in Uddevalla, Sweden
Poured from bottle, clear dark copper with low head. Aroma with notes of caramel, dried fruit, spice and herbs. Taste is full and rich with a large malt body and bitter sweet finish. Great with easter food or on it’s own. ante (3373) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAR 7, 2008
UPDATED: MAR 12, 2008 Bottled. Pours out in a clear reddish amber colour with a rich firm off-white foam. Orangey hops, earth, milky chocolate, almonds and berries in the aroma. Nearly full-bodied with notes of cocoa, fudge, earth, butter, pepper and dried oranges. Long aftertaste of earthy yeast, dried oranges, roasted nuts toffee, dark chocolate, black cherries, pine and anise. Hearty, quite chewy and a complex "easter warmer". rlgk (18844) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAR 7, 2008
Bottle. Orange/amber color, nice creamy lasting offwhite head. Dry roasted aroma, some chocolate and cocoa, hops, erathy and with some smoked notes. Chocolate and cocoa flavor, nutty notes, metallic, maybe some dark fruits. Quite obvious hoppy bitter finish. Marsiblursi (3083) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAR 8, 2008
(Bottle) Pours a beautiful dark red with a sand coloured head. The aroma is dry roasted up front with tones of chocolate and cocoa but also some sweet liquorice, caramel/dark fudge, nuts, orange/mild piny like hops, milk and some subtle fruitiness. The flavour is medium roasted with tones of chocolate and liquorice. Some milk and earth. Light peppery and almost piny hops along with some sourish orange/citric hints. The mouthfeel is round and quite clean but with some unsatisfying hard edges. Light sweet, medium bitter and light to medium dry. Stable and chewable medium bodied. This is a good beer, but the name Jämtlands is not your obvious quality trademark anymore.

Bottle from Systembolaget.
Typical Jämtlands character in this seasonal offering - aroma of spice, seville oranges, chocolate and bitter roast.
Noticeably sweeter than the year-round brews. Lots of liquorice and an annoying shampoo flavour that ruins the overall effect for me. Went well with a sweet cheddar cheese. gunnfryd (15269) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAY 4, 2008
Bottle. Brown colour with an off-white head. Aroma is hop, caramel.. Flavour is hop, caramel, fruit, apple. Nice body and a nice beer. rickgordon (3878) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAY 5, 2008
Brown colour with average-sized head. Toffee, vanilla and fudge in aroma. Smooth, almost jellyish mouthfeel, with notes of that of the aroma above. The house character of Jämtlands is back on track again, here with a pronounced grainy malt character, with a nice balancing bitterness. Great beer! Gusgus (237) - Mölndal, SWEDEN - MAY 24, 2008
Bottle. Dark brown with small head. Typical ’Jämtland’ flavor. Tobacco boiled green peas, coffee, chocolate, citrus, smokey, apricots. Medium body. Balanced bitterness and just a hint of alcohol. Caramel and chocolate flavor with a hint of lemon and licorice. Lightly herbal finish of aniseed and coffee. Ljunkan (530) - Karlstad, SWEDEN - APR 29, 2009
On tap at Bishops Arms, Karlstad. Påsköl 2009 - is this a new one? Pours an amber color with a nice white head. Aroma is malty with caramel, toffee, dried fruits and some hops. Flavour is malty and caramely, somewhat sweet with toffee and dried fruits. Mostly aromatic hoppy with some grassy and citrusy notes. Light bitter finish. Smooth mouthfeel, medium carbonation, body is medium. A well done beer from Jämtlands - something of a "revenge" after their infected(?) IPA...
