"Jämtlands president is a bottom fermented beer in the style of a north German pilsener. The beer has a medium bitterness and nice aroma of Czechish hops."

Bottle. The colour is pale yellow; the firm white foam is two fingers thick.

The smell is malty and somewhat bitter; it is rather anonymous.

The carbonation is quite right; fresh with medium sized bubbles.

The taste stars with a mild bitterness, some fine malt and a sourish touch. The quite simple aftertaste got a soft bitterness and a note of dark bread.

This is probably the most “average” beer from Jämtlands Bryggeri. A standard lager/pils made with a little more craftsmanship and some better ingredients than the major breweries (although it reminds me of the German pils DAB). I’ll guess they are brewing it for those poor people that want “A normal beer, nothing strange please”.

Oh yes. The style... The front label says "Lager", but the back label reads "A beer in the style of the Northern German Pils".

Straw-golden, very big bubbled to small, transparent head. Very grainy nose, warm summergrain, chaff. Toasted malts, not overly sweet taste. Tad of medicinal flavour in the background. Finish is dry, metallic-hoppy. Light bodied. Nothing but a ’luxus’ Pilsner, really.

Sampled from draught at Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival 2004 (#9).
Clear golden, creamy snow white head. Blond-like aroma of yeast and hops with flowery tones. Not very full in the flavor. Dry and slightly hoppy with some sharp citrus notes. Good for a pilsener.

Blond color. Peculiar aroma, with light vanilla, flowers (especially orange flowers), green tea. Very good Pilsener, with reasonable maltiness, very good hopping, leading to an interesting final, very strong, with also a light fruitness and very good hop.
