tombyars (1821) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - DEC 12, 2017
Tasted this at the 1051 GWR, Glasgow on the 8th December 2017. Keg, pint sampled. Opaque dark amber in colour with a thin white head. Hoppy aroma and when left to heat up - distinct notes of cloves and banana coming through. Thin resiny mouthfeel and poor lacing. Pale malt gives a very vague hit of biscuit malt which fades as clove, banana, Askit powder flavours come through. Citrus hop notes present in the short bitter aftertaste with light gooseberry and kiwi notes evident. Finish is hoppy with citrus peel, cloves and weak banana flavours still present on the palate. A below par German Hefeweizen, maybe better on cask?

zacgillbanks (5768) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - AUG 26, 2017
4.6% ABV bottle from Dobbies Garden Centre, Ponteland, Newcastle. Cloudy orange-white in colour with a thin white head. It has a sweet lemon and yeasty flavour followed by vanilla and spicy fruit on the finish. Not bad.

Rune (14176) - Tromsø, NORWAY - APR 27, 2016
Cask, half-pint at Old Blackfriars. A wheat haze to a golden body, covering layer. Aroma of ripe banana and wheat. Sweet banana flavours with citric hints, lightly spiced. Sweet wheat fruity end. A rather sweet version of the style. Quite possible to drink (Aberdeen 18.04.2016).

imdownthepub (15753) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - OCT 30, 2015
Cask conditioned at Birmingham Beer Festival ’15. Clouded gold with white head. There is a strongish pear drop flavour to this at the start, banana notes, estery in character. It’s okay.

mR_fr0g (14430) - Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 27, 2015
Bottle shared at the Tropical Croydonia tasting. 01/07/2015. Many thanks to Scopey. Hazed golden / yellow coloured pour wheaty with a small white head. Aroma is heather, wheaty, apricot, spicy grainy and a little clove phenol. Flavour is composed of wheaty grains, banana bread. Palate is semi sweet, moderate carbonation. Little tangy in the finish.

ianwelby (1624) - SCOTLAND - JUL 17, 2015
Pint at Bon Accord Glasgow. Hazy golden beer with a thin creamy head. Light fruit aroma. Flavour is sweet but not sickly, with a distinct wheaty taste. Body is light but surprisingly creamy. Very drinkable.

The_Osprey (10000) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 10, 2015
Bottle share at Paul’s sweaty Croydon tasting. Thanks to Mr Strokey. BB Jan 2016, 4.7%. Very hazy yellow / orange, lightly sparkling, small foamy white head. Aroma is cabbage and peas, lightly wheaty, background clove. Body is medium to light, tingly carbonation, slightly foamy. Taste is light tangerine, straw, soft biscuity malts, wheat. Basic, but not bad.

Theydon_Bois (22095) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - JUL 4, 2015
Bottle split at the Tropical Croydonia tasting on melt day, thanks to Scoopester, 01/07/15. Hazed orange topped with a moderate off white swirl. Nose is light spice, yeast esters, straw, clove, banana. Taste comprises tangerine, clove, straw, yeast, bread, light spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough example of the style.

Scopey (16789) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 3, 2015
Bottle shared at the Tropical Croydonia tasting. It pours hazy golden with a small, bubbly white head. The nose is soft, doughy, brioche, wheat, orange rind, clove rock, candied peel and orange chewits. The taste is smooth, toasty, watery, dough, cracker, pepper, dry chalky notes, stewed orange and sweet banana. Light-medium body, fine carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Not bad stuff. Drinkabel enough.

Tropical Croydonia Bottle Share. Thanks to Scopester. Lightly hazy gold beer, residual pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry. Low fine carbonation. Light pale malts, semi sweet. A kinda milky soapy floralness with a whisper of grain. Light over ripe citrus. Light finish. Just about scrapes a pass.
